Questions & Answers
There is no date to be found. However, because it is freeze-dried, it should last quite a while. There's just not a lot of fragrance. There is no need for refrigeration.
One tablespoon fresh equals one tablespoon freeze dried, according to Lite House, and this product, in my opinion, is as close to fresh as it gets.
Thank you for letting me know; I only recently discovered that. It's available for purchase in my neighborhood. Thanks

This is a freeze-dried product. Dried dill is far superior to the dried dill you'll find in your supermarket. In my cheddar cheese, I use a lot of dill. Sourdough bread is a type of bread that is made from sourdough starter I'm baking, and fresh dill isn't going to cut it. This item is a good alternative.
They can be used in almost all recipes in place of fresh, which saves me a lot of money because when I buy fresh, I only use a little and have to throw away the rest, whereas with freeze dried, I get the same result with no waste. The Dill flavor is new to me, but it does exactly what I need for savory quick breads and other dishes so far.
Dill is a favorite flavor of mine and my husband's. In the past, I've bought McCormick, Morton, and Bassett dill, but this time I ordered the Litehouse brand because the other two brands didn't smell fresh when I opened them. Not only were the Litehouse dill containers individually wrapped in plastic padding, but when you removed them from the plastic padded bags, you could smell the dill. There were no cracks or holes in the jars. When you first open the jars, the aroma of fresh dill assaults your senses.
So I usually get it from Costco, but they were out of stock. As a result, I went to Amazon, which was the next best thing. This jar was less than half the size of the ones I usually buy at Costco. Despite the fact that it was nearly the same price, I'm hoping that because it's in a smaller jar, it will keep its rich aroma and flavor for a little longer. We'll have to wait and see.
We pickedled asparagus in season and didn't have any fresh dill on hand, so we used this as a substitute, and it tasted just as good as fresh dill and took up almost no space in the canning jar. It also makes a lot of beer; a bottle and a half made 20 pints. It was well worth the money.
There's no way to compare this dried dill to anything else. When you open the jar, you'll immediately recognize it. Because of the freeze drying, the dill has a fresh scent. Other dried dill has a mild odor that is similar to that of hay. Coat cold smoked salmon with this delicious sauce.
I've tried a few of the freeze-dried items, and they're all excellent. I'll definitely buy them again, but they're pricey, so I'll always have some on hand if I don't have fresh. The taste is fantastic. They add a lot of flavor to food when used as a seasoning. It's a great product, and I'm looking forward to trying others. br>Many thanks to Amazonbr>Joanne.
It also works well with eggs or soups with a lot of vegetables. It keeps for a long time and still tastes good. It's a good buy because it lasts about a year.
