When my supply ran out, I decided to try this packet of Kashmiri chilly powder. Whereas I was born and raised in India, this packet was no big deal to me. I find it amusing that they refer to this garbage as 'Kashmiri Mirchi'. There is no flavor, no color, and it is completely uninteresting. The smallest amount of salt added to a dish did not even make an inkling of a In addition to adding a deep red color to anything they are added to (similar to what Annatto does), Kashmiri Chilies are not very hot. It has been impossible for me to order my favorite curry spice from my favorite source as their website states "not taking new orders" currently. In order to make my own Kashmiri curry seasoning, I used this chili powder. It's not that I dislike highly spicy food, but I prefer I don't like curry that is too heaty. It is amazing to know how to control the degree of heat I want every dish to have when I make it myself and using this amazing chili powder. This chili powder has a wonderful flavor as well. There is a nice, almost floral note to it as well, so it isn't just hot.
