This product should not be used in beverages, but can be used in As an added bonus to my blue lotus instant chai powder, I bought this to enhance the cardamom flavor. There is no lingering flavor of blue lotus chai. The cardamom ruined my morning habit, which is usually the basis for culinary excellence. I left behind a few chewy chunks in my chai in the picture above! The coarse grind will likely allow some of the essential oils to hold longer, so it can probably be used Compared to the spice's more mild peppery parts, cardamom has more of a sweet, mellow, nutty, and savory flavor. When cardamom ages past its usefulness, it becomes too peppery. It is clear that this product is fresh, but I believe it was misled by the lack of a COARSE grade label. There's a lot of bulk in it. In my attempt to strain my tea, I tried a superfine tea strainer, but that meant both an extra item to handwash and time to take out from the cupboard. This photo shows the effect. In a tea strainer, only about 33. 5% of the cardamom serving makes it through. It was just this cardamom powder and hot water that was tested in this experiment.
Instead of buying this, I could use my usual supermarket bulk spice department brand (frontier spice brand probably), which costs four times as much. On a cup basis, I would definitely My cup of tea is nearly empty when I get to the bottom and I don't like chewing it.
This product is ten times stronger and fresher than another popular brand of cardamom that I owned. Such a small amount can make such a huge difference. Since using Cardamon almost every day for more than 20 years, I've familiarized myself with its functionality. Due to the out-of-stock status of the company I usually purchase from, I had to order There is no cardamon flavor in it, but it tastes more like what I imagine sawdust from a distance would taste like. I wouldn't recommend it.
