Questions & Answers

Can ungrinded peppercorns be left open for a long time before they lose their taste?

If people tell you they last for years unground, they're wrong. Every spice loses its potency over time. Grinding speeds up the process by a great deal. To prolong the life of these treats, put them in an airtight container and store them in the freezer. Let them come to room temperature before opening, so condensation does not form. They'll stay effective for a year, maybe even a little longer if you do this. In just a few months, if you keep them at room temperature, in a bag that is opened often, you will lose all the aromatics that make these delicious.

Is it radiation?

There is no doubt that it is irradiated. It's great to know that, isn't it? Taking extra measures to ensure no living bugs or microbes are in your pepper corns, they have taken extra precautions to guarantee this. The companies that skip that step are bad for the environment, cheap, lazy, and unhealth

What is the problem with storing things in ziploc bags?

If yours is a ziploc bag, you can store it in either a can with a lid OR a ziploc bag. I will need to order more pepper corns based on the amount I 1 lb. is my weight. There is a can or more I store in it. If I keep this in my pantry (which is NOT in the kitchen), I place it on a shelf in the dark. Depending on how fast you use up your supplies, it also depends on how much you spend. Among the types of black pepper I have tried, Telecherry is the best. Since it was introduced a decade ago, I've been using it.

A large chunk of moldy peppercorn was found in the mill as I was refilling it. Where are we going wrong? Is it ok to store them in the wrong place?

That could be the case. There have been no problems with mine so far What did you do with it? Did Can it be stored in a moist or damp environment? Keeping it in a glass jar with a lid in my kitchen cabinet is the best place for me. You might have introduced some moisture the last time you opened the container, perhaps by using

The peppercorns I've been using have been great
4/5

They are a nice peppercorn. I am happy with them. It may not be as fragrant as the best Tellichery peppers I've used, but it is far better than what I usually find at the supermarket and the local food cooperative. It is slightly less pungent than standard peppers, but it is also more aromatic-it has citrus and floral notes that make the whole experience far more enjoyable. Apparently there is a lot of confusion in these comments and across the internet about what Tellichery peppercorns are. Peppers in this variety are not different from those in other varieties. Plants that make the crap pepper you buy at the supermarket are the exact same form. Often, it is from Tellichery, but this isn't always the case. The suppliers that you deal with (including this one) probably buy their products from global distributors, and have no idea where the products originate. There's no point in worrying about it. Telelchery is one of the size grades. In the case of peppercorns that are over 4, discard them. It has a diameter of 25mm, and it is They are not unless they are. You really cannot get any simpler than this.

Who cares about the size? The larger peppercorns have a different flavor profile. They have less heat, more aroma, and a more volatile smell. Because of that, they are more expensive than other kinds of instruments. Make sure you don't become the knucklehead who bought them and gave them a 1 The size of these is the reason for the one-star review. It's been reported that some commenters claimed the peppercorns were too small to be tellichery. Make measurements if you suspect this to be the case. It is possible that you are right. I would like them to go According to my measurement, they were closer to 5mm, which meant they were actually of the next class This Telllicherry Special Extra Bold paper is 100% acid-free. This doesn't matter much to me, so please don't ask me. This is the only reason I took off a star the box is made of cheap plastic and cannot be sealed. If they came in heavy, vacuum-sealed containers, that would be great A zip-lock bag is used to seal the package. To store, double bag them and put them in the freezer I strongly advise you to Almost all spices have a very short shelf life because of their.

The place is full of rock and twigs
3/5

It's ROCKS and TWIGS all the way! What have you done with your pepper grinder when you ground rocks? Those are exactly the things I have done and later I bit into them to make it worse. With this thought in mind, I then want you to envision how frustrating it would be if you had to SORT through a pound of peppercorns to find only some ROCKS, CLUMPS OF MUD, I could not even imagine how elated I was to have to do this to all six pounds of food that I had (The two pounds that emerged from the six are pictured above. ) In other words, just scrape up some dirt from your driveway and sell it to a pepper crepe vendor.

When I ordered this before, I gave it 5 stars, but this time I was disappointed to find that it was filled with dust and It will take us a while to weed through the entire bag
3/5

I don't care about the pepper as long as it's great, but I didn't plan to process 16 ounces of pepper to remove twigs. I took this photo of my pepper grinder just to show what I got out. This bag was from the bottom of the batch, in my opinion.

The warning on this page should not be bought
3/5

The only reason it is 1 star is that it is pepper, but The flavor of this pepper was bland, almost dusty tasting the worst pepper I have ever tasted. There is a reason why I feel I was duped by this product. Black pepper in the form of tellicherry peppercorns and regular black pepper each come from the same plant species, Peppercorns are created by drying the fruit of the vine and allowing it to dry. The peppercorns are then taken to a grablating facility where a machine sorts them according to their size, and the sizes are called different names and sold at varying Tellicherry peppercorn is determined by its size. When a peppercorn is 4 grams, it is called a Tellicherry peppercorn. It is called Tellicherry if it is smaller than 5 mm. The Tellicherry grade represents 10% of a crop and commands a premium price.
In the 16oz bag of pepper I received, there may have been just 1 oz of Tellicherry grade pepper. There is no way I will do business with Spice World again. There are some photos added to the post.

It used to be a good product, but In the past, I purchased "Spicy World Whole Black Peppercorns Tellicherry 16 Oz - New" from this company
3/5

The steam sterilization process - A non-profit organization The black pepper we use has GMOs A refill for the grinder is mentioned and the picture in the returns section of the website The order records show what I expected to receive however, it was "Black Peppercorn Whole," and nowhere on the package does it state where the peppercorns are going to be shipped. Unlabeled peppercorns are not more expensive than Tellicherry, as I have no reason to believe. As the previous amazon Identity has been used to sell a cheaper product, it appears a cheaper product has been substituted. As a result of its quality, the old product earned a good The old product that I'm getting now does not match the old one, and it rides the reputation of the old product, but otherwise, it is not the same.

Pepper with a lot of flavor
5/5

There have been many negative reviews about the impurities and foreign particles contained in the product. At this point, it seems as though this purchase is very pure and clean. The packaging was airtight and the flavor was pretty incredible in comparison to other black pepper products on the market. The impression I have is very impressive! Actually, this is really cool. It may be that they've already remedied issues from previous complaints? That's my opinion, not sure if it's helpful.

A Better Alternative to Black Dust
5/5

Spicy World offers customers an excellent alternative to the infamous black dust An example label would be Large grocery chains offer plastic bottles capped with a cap). The pepper market has been captured by them in nearly 100% of cases as you will need a pepper grinder and the will to squeeze or crank or whatever it is you need to do to make the pepper turn from small hard balls into delicious There are other important ways in which we've sacrificed quality for convenience than just ground pepper as a society. Whenever I speak of pepper, I draw a line in the sand. On salads and steaks alike, I use it, as well as on a wide range of other dishes. Whenever possible, I use whole peppercorns and these are among the best I have The best part of Amazon is the convenience of ordering Has them in stock at all times It delivers in a timely manner, and their timely delivery is unmatched. My first concern when I purchase a product online is to check the reviews. I use reviews to help me decide which option is right for my needs. It is my honest opinion that I share in my reviews.
