McCormick is a well-known name in the food industry. I purchase a large number of their items. Since the pandemic began, I've learned to use a variety of spices. Spices have improved the taste of meals. The price, the quality, and the ease of use are all important factors.
Because of the flavor profile, I only buy two mustard brands: this is one of them! br>br>Depending on how much you use, this tastes like real mustard with a bite. Others, I've discovered, have an odd flavor to them. br>br>I keep this on hand for "salads" with a creamy base, like tuna and egg, and it's a must for deviled eggs. When making homemade mac and cheese, a pinch of cayenne pepper adds a punch of flavor. br>br>Remember, this stuff has a bite to it; combining a bunch of mustard powder with a little water or vinegar will NOT yield standard yellow mustard; instead, you'll get something more akin to Chinese hot mustard.
My kitchen is stocked with McCormick herbs and spices. While I think this dry parsley is a good product, the flavor isn't strong enough for me. I'm used to McCormick herbs being flavorful, so I'm a little disappointed with this product, but it's still good for soups, casseroles, chilies, and stews; Sprinkled on salads or pasta, it's not as good as it sounds. The flakes are extremely small and dry. br>The packaging is larger than regular McCormick packaging, so it will last me a long time. br>The parsley flakes are larger, so most won't come out through the swifter. I'll need to fully open the cap and use my fingers or a small spoon to grab the product.
In our city of Virginia Beach, all of our grocery stores (Kroger, Food Lion, Farm Fresh [SuperValu], Harris Teeter, and Fresh Market) have discontinued carrying McCormick Chili Powder. At the very least, we were unable to locate it. As a result, my wife, who has been making excellent chili for nearly 48 years, turned to Chipotle Chili Powder, which we found to be disappointing. I reached a point where I didn't want my wife to make chili, despite the fact that it was one of my favorite meals. Finally, I looked for McCormick Chili Powder and came across this item - Chili has regained its original flavor. Thank you so much for carrying this item.
I bought these because I didn't have any fresh parsley and a recipe called for it. My advice is as follows: Just pick up some fresh parsley! I've seen this used a lot, so I decided to give it a shot, but it's not the same. Use it when you're in a pinch, but if you really want fresh parsley, spend the $1 and buy it!.
When it comes to spices, McCormick is unrivaled.
It's sufficient! However, I wish I'd noticed the larger size sooner. This is a good option for someone who doesn't cook often but wants to have spices on hand for when they do, or for just one person.
While an off-brand basil from the supermarket is less expensive, McCormick's taste, finely ground quality, and aroma are unrivaled. This is a good size and a good price, so we use it on everything. It also aids in the freshening of our small animals' bedding. It's safe for them to eat and helps to stimulate their sense of smell.
