In the most recent two-year period, We bought a pack and used it once, but we couldn't finish our taco salad because of the strong salt flavor; I believe there was a manufacturing issue, but McCormick didn't seem interested in looking into the lot codes I provided. They directed me back to Amazon to work out a refund, which was not the point of my contacting them in the first place. It was disappointing.
Don't be fooled; get the "Premium" version of this taco seasoning instead. You're looking for the original. I'm currently stuck with a number of Premium versions. I'm thinking about spreading it around my garden to see if it can keep the rodents away as well as I can. YOU WANT THE ORIGINAL AGAIN! br>br> This is the latest update.
I used to buy it somewhere else, but they switched to the "Premium" taco seasoning, which is HORRIBLE in comparison to the original. I now have two large bottles of taco seasoning on hand, ready for even the largest weekend gatherings. Whether you're making beef, chicken, or pork tacos, this stuff takes care of everything. When compared to the bulk bottle, buying packets at the grocery store is a huge waste of money.
I was under the impression that I had purchased a single 24oz canister of taco seasoning. Imagine my delight when I opened the box and discovered two 24oz canisters inside. I assumed an error had occurred during the fulfillment of my order, but after double-checking my order and reading the description, I realized I'm a terrible reader. As a result, my family now has enough taco seasoning to last a decade. Oops!.
I went back to the original recipe because the ingredients list clearly contains more real spices and less sugar and fillers. The McCormick flavor is still there!.
Flavor is good, could be a little more'taco'y'but we added a little more chili pepper and cumin for our own personal taste. Approximately $0. 01 In comparison to, it costs around 50 cents per ounce. 70 to . 90 cents and up. Thank you very much!.
This is the best taco seasoning I've ever come across! Because I'm allergic to MSG, I can't use a lot of taco seasoning mixes, but I used to buy the small packets of this one at the grocery store all the time. This one has the best flavor, and the company makes a point of not using MSG or other preservatives in their products, so I never have to worry about getting sick from it. We finally got the big containers because they're so much cheaper than the packets. This recipe makes a lot of food with only 3 or 4 tablespoons! We won't run out for a long time, and we only use this mix once a week.
Taco seasoning used to come in small packets, which I used to buy. As my "Tex-Mex" cooking skills improved, I added more "Tex-Mex" recipes to my repertoire Mex", I decided that having a larger quantity would be more practical. As a result, I began to make my own concoctions. What a hassle. First, I had all of the individual seasonings stored in small jars, ready to be used. Then there was the matter of finding the time to measure out each ingredient. This was a simple solution to a difficult problem. And with two bottles, I'm not going to run out for a long time.
