Questions & Answers
My bottle has no indication that it is gluten-free. Rudy's in San Antonio, Texas, has a website that might be able to answer your question. They might even sell a gluten-free version of their rub. It's a fantastic rub! On the back of the container, you'll find a list of ingredients.
MSG is not listed among the ingredients.

It had been a gentle rubbing. I wasn't a big fan of it.

Rudy's bbq is one of my favorites. For the past 20 years, it has been one of my top picks. However, I tried it on 5 lbs of chicken legs and it completely ruined the batch. After almost 2 hours of cooking on the grill, it was time to eat. HEAT was all I got! And I'm a big fan of spiciness. This, however, was excessive. There is no mention of heat or spicy anywhere on the container. And there's a bit of an overabundance going on here. I'll try to save it by making a small test batch with brown sugar. However, I will not be purchasing this product in the future.
This rub left me feeling let down. Ruby's is a restaurant where I have previously dined. I'm not sure they use this on their meat. I agree with the other reviewers that this rub has too much pepper in it. I don't like how pepper is the dominant flavor in my baby back ribs. I'm going to stick to my own rub. If you enjoy Rudy's barbecue, I recommend sticking to their sauces and skipping the rub.
I first purchased some from Rudy's Restaurant in Houston and had more sent to me by friends, so I was overjoyed to discover it on Amazon. It's my go-to product for everything. in order to season I've used Rudy's seasoning on chicken, steaks, vegetables, and eggs, among other things, and if I could only have one seasoning in my cupboard, it would be Rudy's.
My wife purchased this from Rudy's in Texas, and the seasoning was not the same as what I received from Amazon. The new version has thicker seasoning chunks and isn't nearly as tasty. This is something I'd like to return, but the window has closed. Unfortunately, I won't be able to use it until next weekend. br>br>I'm not pleased with myself because I lost $10.
I've enjoyed the brisket at Rudy's BBQ. I tried it on my own bbq brisket, but it was too spicy. However, I used it on a prime rib that I cooked in the oven and it was delicious.
On grilled chicken, it's fantastic! It's a big bottle that'll keep you going for a long time.
I came across Rudy's while working in Laredo, Texas. The barbecue they serve is fantastic. To take home, I purchased Rudy's Rub. Since then, I've reordered it several times. Try it on your breakfast home fries, in addition to your meat.
This rub is fantastic on brisket, but it's also fantastic on ribs and chicken.
