It's not the same as "Hambeens" - The bag does not include a flavor packet.
I can attest to the fact that they are genuine GOYA beans.
The shelf life of dried foods is usually stated to be one year. 5 years, depending on the product; however, these foods do not "expire" in the same way that milk does. Even if dried peas or beans are 10 or 20 years old, they should still be safe to eat.
It's what I use to make my own pea soup.

I was fed up with not being able to find dried split peas in my neighborhood. It was my first purchase of the Goya brand, and I was not disappointed. It's really good!.
I expected four one-pound bags, but instead got one large bag with poor quality. Pea shells abound, as well as burnt bits. On what appeared to be a rock, I came dangerously close to breaking my tooth. br>Keep in mind that this was after I rinsed the peas and removed some suspect bits.
Split pea soup is one of my favorites, and I have a recipe that uses the Goya brand to add a unique flavor that's simple to incorporate into the broth and spiced up with curry.

Split peas that are tasty. It does not require as much washing as some others. It turned out to be a fantastic soup. It's like having an abundance of resources.
I received four 14-ounce packets rather than the 16-ounce package I expected. Not happy.
