The alum was used to make eco dyed paper, a process that involves boiling it in water. However, some residue was still present at the end of the process, after it had dissolved. Due to the fact that I did not try to dissolve it in warm water, I do not know how well it dissolves there.
The powder in this container is not The ground cannot be turned over on top of the thing- used my food processor and the results were good. Crystals would be the best way to describe it. There is only one real powder the alum found in the spice department at your local grocery story. There was a lot of powder I wanted.

The oil has been used in my aquarium to rid my plants of snails. Use 3 tablespoons of oil per gallon of water to soak my plants for two weeks It takes you three hours to complete this task.

Powder is not what we are talking about. There are crystals in it. They were prompt in their arrival.
