The only information stated is that it's not made from genetically modified organisms. There is simply a "from birch" statement on their website, not a "from china". There are no indications of where the song is Despite my attempts to contact them over a week ago, they have yet to respond. Therefore I am pretty sure it is not made of US birch that's been imported. Although it is very powdery, it seems to taste good, we use it for making tea or espresso and there are no complaints as to the taste.
