To test the product out, I bought a small size (15 oz) as it was cheaper than my usual xylitol brand. Immediately after opening the bag, I picked up an odor like one of the most common super-scented products. There would be an unpleasant smell from glue. The odor I am smelling could be due to traces of solvents or catalyst carriers used in the process of biotechnology Production of xylitol from birch cellulose through chemical processes. As can be observed from this, the final product is in poor shape and the quality control is totally lacking. The toxicity of this chemical contamination is not known to me, but I would not recommend eating this pungent mess. The update is The plastic bag rather than the product itself was to blame, according to my husband. We transferred the xylitol into a clean glass container, sealed it tightly and left it for a few days to see how it would work. I did not notice a gluish odor in the jar when I opened it, but the stuff in the bag still smelled very bad. I guess the odor of the xylitol was actually a consequence of the plastic package, not the xylitol itself. The quality control department of a manufacturer still sees it as a negative factor. I am not going to use the plastic bag for food preparation, since I'm so sure the smell was caused by the plastic bag.
Dogs can be killed by even small amounts of xylitol due to hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), seizures, liver failure or even death. There was no mention of this, however. It's a health brand, so it doesn't have a warning label. My research on this online led me to this discovery. As a pet lover, I cannot let this slide. If even a tiny drop accidentally fell on the floor, it could It should be added to the descriptions because this is serious. Sadly, pet owners will not like it here.
Years ago I began using Xylitol as a sugar substitute, and I was hooked! The majority of the time, I use it to make my morning tea! Occasionally, I will make a cake or a cookie with it, but mostly I use it for tea. The quality of this brand is comparable to any other I have tried, and it is great that I can get it delivered since I don't have an easy time finding it in stores. I like it a lot! It can cause gastrointestinal distress in some people, but it can also cause it if you are new to it and have too much of it. If you are new to xylitol, start gradually as too much can cause discomfort. I try to stay sugar-free, so this stuff is a must for me! I use a teaspoon in my morning tea or coffee and then can bulls up to larger amounts for baking etc.
The last few years, I have tried quite a few brands of sugar substitutes. We think this is the best one we've seen There is documentation on the package indicating that it is made of birch and is American made. Making syrup and pastries from it was my favorite. Syrup made with this product is of the highest quality, has no aftertaste, and has very good stability. This product is sweet, and it gives me enough sweetness to satisfy my cravings, unlike another brand of xylitol which I had to use more of to obtain even a regular sweetness level. It is my hope that they maintain that quality. In particular, I will buy again for the fact that the syrup was perfect after even a few My almond filled filo dough pastry was filled with an incredibly delicious jam that didn't crystallize.
Birch, not corn, is used to make the product. Stevia is much better than this. In hot coffee and tea, it is a tasty treat. If I are putting it in something cold, I do need to dissolve it in something hot. Similar to sugar in size. Since I avoid GMOs and corn, it makes a lot of sense that it is made from birch instead of corn. I liked it a lot. I can comfortably live a keto lifestyle with this product.
It has a great flavor and is nearly as sweet as real sugar when used as a I can't tell the difference once it has broken down or mixed in, but for a little while it took me awhile to get used to it.
Ads like these are dishonest, and I'm tired of them. I purchased this product because it was advertised as an American product. Once I received it, I noticed "Distributed by Health Garden of NY Inc. ". The property is located in Union, NJ - 07083, so if it is distributed by an American company, then it was not produced here. What exactly is the source of this? Does China exist? I think so. China does not have any products I want! I bought all brands of Xyla from Amazon, and they all seem to be doing the same thing. Healthy Garden, Anthony's and Sweet Nature are all in this department. The grain pattern shows no indication that the wood comes I wonder. This mystery product, which won't mention how it is made or where it came from, has been driving me crazy for too long. I rather dislike the idea of it as well, since it is soothing to my teeth and the idea really appeals to me.
The taste is great, and it doesn't taste bitter after drinking coffee. I use it to make a drink in the morning.
