17 batches of jam can be made from one bag

Using a kitchen scale to measure the correct amount was the only challenging part (I put it in baggies and used a kitchen scale). I am happy with how Jam turned out.

Product of the highest quality! The following nbsp You know what happens when you weigh this 2 pound bag of pectin and you find out it's worth about 3 to 4 tiny boxes of grocery store pectin? The plums on this tree were picked from our land

This is a kind of wild plum that is the size of a cherry. When I made a small batch of jam, this pectin set it perfectly. It is not the first time that I have purchased Hoosier Hill products. We had one of the best dehydrated whole milks of all time. Having trust in the brand is therefore evident since I familiarized myself with Because I have now purchased a second excellent product from them, I will definitely purchase more from them in the future.

This pectin was bought this year so that I could avoid purchasing the more expensive stuff that is available in shops

lost as to why my usual jam recipes were not setting, and all were coming out runny. Most of the time, I use 1 cup sugar to 2 cups fruit puree when making jam. This week I made some peach jam and did a split-test. The results are shown in the following image. Scoopfuls of jam sliding down a plate (very scientific! Hoosier Hill pectin, and All other users seem to have great success with it, so that's definitely good! We wanted to warn you that if you are using a new pectin for low sugar recipes, it is better to experiment around prior to making large batches. * I used these ingredients for my recipe (divide into two equal volumes)
4T Hoosier Hill pectin, 2T Ball Low Sugar, add pectin after puree has been boiling for a few minutes. Approximately 3 minutes. Using a steam canner, process in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes. Place in 1/2 pint jars (makes around 4 total).

It thickens my raspberry, so I was delighted to find that it combines well with it

It was a little hesitant on my part to order this product because I had trouble with some pectin in the past and had settled on Ball's Classic to replace it In the event of failure Pectin that is safe for human consumption. As a result, I was very pleased to find that it thickened my raspberry, blackberry, and blueberry jams without any trouble. This results in a slightly different flavor and texture (although it is not unpleasant) however, it is not harmful. In my trial and error (I don't like my jams as sweet as the recipe on the bag specifies), I found the perfect fresh fruit jam to begin with with 4 cups of mashed berries plus 4 cups of sugar plus 4 tablespoons of pectin. You need to set a.

In the future, I won't buy pectin in small boxes! I'm a jam and jelly maker who has been making jam and jelly for over 20 years

About 85% of the time, I double my batches, just like you would with pectin in a store. I use six Tablespoons of pectin per batch, just like you would with pectin in a jar. It went without a hitch!.

I made three batches of my own Concord grape jam with this product and they turned out great! And they did not taste funny at all! The Hoosier Farm pectin would have been much easier for me to use in my peach jam in the early season since I also made three batches with my regular recipe and Sure JEL and only had one fail
5/5

With Hoosier Farm, that wouldn't have happened. The recommendations I would give to friends are positive. My next purchase will be with you! Thank you for making such a great product! Aside from that, I would have ended up purchasing this product on Amazon had I not found it earlier. I was becoming so desperate to make my own jams, jellies, and preserves that this would have been my last year.
