Questions & Answers

Is this a natural or organic product?

It's nothing more than flax seeds. Organic is the only way to go.

Is there a shell on this flax seed?

I'm not sure what a shell is. I'm going to have to soak it for the night. I'm not going to eat it because I'm not hungry. To help my older horse gain weight, I combine it with her feed.

How many cups does this 10 pound bag contain?

I counted out approximately 19 cups, with a 3/8" lip from the 1 cup mark on my 1 cup measure.

Is Glyphosate used to treat these seeds?

No, there's supposed to be some organic there.

I'm going to buy more
5/5

This is a product that I use in my sleeping mask and hot cold pack, so I bought it. I was not dissatisfied because it arrived quickly and the box was undamaged. I'm going to buy more.

Great! Instead of Omega- 3 fatty acids, I use this in a coffee grinder for my two horses, an Arabian and an OTTB
5/5

supplement with a high price tag I grind a pound of coffee, store it in an airtight container, and use it as needed. 3 ounces per horse per day, both find it palatable and eat it fine, and it smells great (not oxidized stale). The vet stated that if whole flax seed is not ground, it passes right through the horses without providing any benefits. Coats and manes began to improve in condition as a result of the oils and richness after only three days of living outside in temperatures of 38 degrees F at night and 50 degrees F during the day.

Excellent value for money! There are no sticks or stones in this game! You can't beat the price! I found no contaminating twigs or other foreign material, unlike some of the other reviewers! If this is the case, a colander with the appropriate hole size should be able to separate the foreign material
5/5

One of mine has holes that are just slightly larger than the seeds, allowing them to pass through with a little shaking. I keep my leftovers in Ziplock 32oz or 16oz screw lid food containers, which I fill to the brim and freeze with a 10gm silica gel desiccant bag on top. I like to combine my ground seeds with a combination of soaked uncooked pearl barley and uncooked damp rolled oats, cooked to a minimum (20 minutes). For a tasty high protein, high energy, high omega 3, 6 fatty acid, vegan low glycemic index breakfast or dinner, simmer split peas, onion slices, and ketchup after they have come to a boil. Cooking vegetables removes at least some of the fiber, which is necessary for maintaining the seeds' otherwise low glycemic index.

Thousands of hard little sticks, stems, and hulls have been found in flaxseed
3/5

This flaxseed bag weighs ten pounds and is mixed with hundreds (thousands?) of other ingredients. ) of hard little stems/sticks and hulls that are impossible to pick out (way too many mixed in), rendering the flaxseed inedible. The package says to sprinkle it on salads and other foods, but sprinkling the flaxseed will also sprinkling all of the inedible contamination that has been mixed in. I'm extremely dissatisfied with this outcome. I'd like to return or exchange the bag for a new one that is not contaminated.

Yuck
3/5

Bitter. This is the third time I've placed an order with this particular shipper. The first two orders were fine, but the third is completely inedible. I've been eating flax for years from all over the world, and it has a musty smell and a bitter taste. This flax isn't fit for human consumption. Because it is non-returnable, I will most likely throw it away.

For the price, there was a lot of whole flax
5/5

I frozen the majority of it and ground it myself in an old coffee grinder. Use as a thickener in banana bread instead of eggs on a daily basis. I enjoy the flavor; my husband does not, but it does not appear in spaghetti sauce or banana bread. Fruit strips can be made by combining ground cranberries and raisins.

It arrived on time, it tastes great, and it grinds up nicely in my coffee grinder. I will definitely buy from you again! I would strongly suggest it.
