What you see here is what you get. It is a mixture of corn syrup and water. Here is real sweet rice wine, brewed from rice. No less, it's made from organic rice. In four days, we delivered the product. A note of caution about "Aji-mirin" if you're seeking "true" mirin, stay away from it The name Mirin. I'm Aji In general, mirin is the alcohol of choice A combination of corn syrup and sugar you can find in any Asian aisle of your local grocery store. It is true mirin, or "Hon-Mirin", that is a fermented rice wine with a natural sweetness from the type of rice that is You can find all the information you need on the labels. The only Hon-Mirin I could find outside of Japan and Hawaii was in Japan. Besides the fact that Eden Foods is one of the few companies that sell Hon-Mirin with English labels (that you will know is Hon-Mirin), the company is relatively inexpensive, and Prime shipping is also free. We wish you a happy cooking experience!.

This is the most authentic flavor on the market
5/5

My experience with Eden Foods Mirin is that it tastes more authentic than any other product Due to the fact that it is made from saki, not just sugar water, it contains an actual amount of alcohol. As an ethnic cook, I use Eden Foods Mirin a lot. I think it adds a lot of flavor to the dishes I prepare.

It is made from real mirin
5/5

Corn syrup under a different name is not what you're looking for! am in love with this product, and I don't want to stop taking it. My heart leapt with joy when I discovered real mirin instead of the fake stuff I was used to seeing in the supermarket. In truth, I had no idea that mirin was supposed to be sweet until I went online one day to find out. You can only imagine the shock & disbelief My shock when I realized that mirin I had been using in all my Japanese dishes was just corn syrup in a repackaged bottle! The meals I prepare now taste much better, they are much more wholesome, and they are more authentic Knowing that they are no longer covered in and simmered in liquid sugar allows me to serve them worry-free to my family.

The mirin is good
3/5

There is no doubt that this Mirin is the best in As a result of my training with a Japanese chef, I won several awards in Asian fusion cooking here in the States. Although I cannot confirm its quality from looking at the ingredients list, you can tell its quality based on the ingredients. More significant issues for me are the price (you can get it at an Asian market for less money) and the packaging The overall thing I like about eden Mirin is that it is packaged in English, so don't be misled by the English letters. You can also get it from anywhere other than Amazon, which I highly recommend.

You'll notice a huge difference in the taste of your food using this
5/5

Mirin is used in almost every Japanese recipe I make from scratch, and after using only Aji-Iri sauce for so long, I have begun to use Mirin for the same purpose. A few years ago, I tried to get the real stuff after having mirin for a few years. It is a good deal when compared to purchasing just one bottle, so buying this pack is well worth it. I found using this product to make a huge, noticeable improvement in my cooking, regardless of how expensive it is. Whenever you make a sauce or broth that needs 1/4 c, you feel it in your belly. The bottle of this stuff is so much more than it needs to be. However, I am not sure I will ever go back to using fake products.

That's what it's all about

Now we are getting to the real deal. My previous review of a fake mirin order can be found here. It just ended up being a bunch of sugar, so I threw it away.

This is a very useful item The vinegar will go into most pastas, rice dishes, and anything else that calls for it

Neither of the alternatives come close to capturing the subtle sweetness and umami in this recipe.
