My cast iron products have improved drastically since I read this information. I am not sure where I read it, but I believed it and it has made all the difference. Aside from having a high smoke point, flax seed oil also hardens more readily than other oils when heated and dried and, most importantly, it is a food source. A grade of B is Combining these 3 factors makes it the best oil to season with. Cast iron needs to be safe before it can be used, so the combination of this and its ability to harden better than other food-safe oils makes it a wonderful seasoning layer. Because I spend a lot of time using the casting irons, I notice that they are smooth and maintain their layers I also use coconut oil due to its high smoke point when I just need to oil the pans a little bit after cooking, which is a great value given the high price of this oil. However, if you ask me what I think of When cooking, a little bit of the non-stick coating is being lost, but I use my magic fairy dust (liquid) to make sure it doesn't peel off and to keep things slippery smooth.
There is something terribly wrong with this flaxseed oil. My face literally tingles when I eat this. It is the most disgusting taste I have ever encountered in my entire life. I am incapable of eating it It's amazing how flax oil doesn't taste that bad to me. In fact, I take a lot of it. It might be easier to use it to clean my cast iron skillets instead of throwing it away like some others have suggested. I never want it to be consumed by people The flavour of this oil actually seems worse than motor oil. . . I have no idea what is wrong with it!.
Crisco can be used to season cast iron, according to many people. As a former one, I was like that. My opinion has since changed from flax oil to palm Unlike many other cooking oils, it hardens as it dries, or after it has been made, quite unlike many other oils that just get tacky upon drying. The use of boiled linseed oil as a finish and conditioner for wooden tools has been around for centuries. Flaxseed and flaxseed are simply two names for the same seed. Cooking with boiled linseed oil is not recommended because it has been treated. Flaxseed oil, however, is safe when it has not been treated.
Organic, vegan, good source of omega 3. Apparently flax seed oil is a good oil to apply to iron cookware in order to season it initially, as it bonds tightly with heat. I confess, I am not an expert on seasoning cookware - one of the two main reasons people purchase this product. Initially, it's baked into the cookware in the oven for an extended period of time and then wiped clean later. I've tried it on my new cast iron skillet (also provided by Greater Goods) and so far it works just fine, no complaints. From what I have read, flax seed oil should only be used for cooking over moderate heat and not over high heat because it has a very low smoke point (225 F according to several sources). There are many health benefits associated with using flax seed oil, not the least of which is the desirable ratio of omega 3 to omega 6 fatty acids. So, that's good news for your health. In addition to salads, you can use this ingredient with other dishes. Nevertheless, I find the taste a bit pungent and I would have to get used to it. There may be a few food situations where it makes sense to use a strong flavored oil. As an overall rule, I would recommend having a variety of oils in your kitchen for different cooking needs and dietary needs, and flax seed oil surely qualifies as one of those oils.
My purpose for taking this pill is to improve my health. There are hints of flaxseed oil in the flavor. I don't think it's the best tasting, but it's pure and that's why it tastes the way it does. I am pleased with the value I received. This is a highly recommended book. It has been a pleasure working with.
In this case, we bought this Flax Seed oil when we purchased a Great Goods iron skillet. Their recommendation was that it be used Well, after my wife cooked the first meal with Flax Seed oil in the skillet, she kindly advised me to buy two bottles of mare oil! This oil tastes great and is healthier than other types of oil. A portion of each sale will be donated to two great charities as an added bonus. We at Love146 and Global Orphan Project (GO Project) are working together on a global scale. I originally bought this for seasoning my cast iron skillet but have been using it as a cooking oil as well. Better Good's has once again proven that it can do no wrong! In addition, it also works great in the skillet!.
As far as fats go, I've done bacon grease, avocado oil, and Flax seed is unquestionably the best because it has a high smoke point and is also very moist. No rancidity occurs, and the next time you make a dish, it won't have an odd taste. I would highly recommend this product. The salt in bacon that is used in curing does not like raw metal, so there is no point in cooking with bacon grease.
