Lactose intolerance has been a lifelong struggle for me The taste of this does not resemble milk like what I know milk should taste like, and I have been a vegetarian for 42 years. forgive it some things, like that it doesn't dissolve in cold water, doesn't dissolve in 170 degree water, or that it does not taste like milk when reconstituted, but the fact is I add it to my coffee and it completely overpowers and ruins the taste. There is nothing acceptable about that. Over the weird plastic flavor of this powdered milk, I can't taste the coffee flavor. In reading all the comments about how wonderful it is and all that, I know it's all a lie. It's hard to drink the powdered milk, since it has an odd taste. What about the people with all the 5-star reviews? Do they ever drink It is garbage in every way and I usually buy Peak brand, which is wonderful in every way. At first, I thought I would save money with this. Now I am going to have to throw it all away because it is The children who are forced to drink this garbage by their parents are to be pitied. I have ordered numerous Hoosier items in the past. They are excellent, but this milk was not enjoyable. We gave the cheddar cheese powder 5 stars, the dried peanut powder 5 stars, and the malted milk powder 5 stars as well.

Although I disliked powdered milk in childhood, considering how frugal my parents were, I did allow myself to consume it to avoid having to go out and buy fresh milk. I often use this as a creamer in my coffee as well. The whole milk powder from Hoosier Hill, as much as I love some of their other products, is truly awful compared to other dry whole milk powders The flavor does not blend well with water and when made as yogurt, mixed as drinkable milk and used as espresso creamer, it is absolutely disgusting. Using it in bread and other baked goods seemed not to make much difference, but then it would take a very long time to go through 8 pounds a tablespoon at a time. There is a great deal of disappointment in my mind.

Having a slit in my bag was the only problem, because someone got a little too excited and cut it out with a box cutter. In the box there were traces of milk everywhere. It was not the reason that I bought it so I haven't reconstituted it with water and drank it yet. As far as my intended use for this product is, I purchased it to use in homemade milk baths, and it does what I needed it to do. Then four - I have added a new update for 17 As a milk substitute for a calf, I had to use this, and I read on other forums how hard it was to mix The boiling water and powder I used are combined to form a paste, which is like glue. In a cup of boiling water I added the rest of that mix when it was fairly smooth. Then I added one more cup of boiling water and whisked. Since I had made a quart, this time I added two cups of boiling water. There will be no lumps! I'm so happy! Hence if you are having trouble getting the ingredients to mix smooth, try that.

I've had great results with this powdered milk so I ordered a larger size. Sadly, the 6lb bag arrived in a shipping bag sans padding, and I was unable to use it. Despite the shipping bag not being sealed and the ruptured/leaking seam, the product had a bad smell to it. After arriving at the store, powdered milk began to pour out of the bag. Since the exterior of the shipping bag was also covered with dust, the product was initially difficult to see that it was leaking. This is common with UPS--no visible signs of leakage. Because the Drivers have no air conditioning, they must leave their doors open in order to ventilate their vehicles. Thus, all packages arrive covered in dust. There is a safety issue here for customers who order food items as well as drivers.

I got four glass bottles to store the powdered milk in and it tastes great. I use it in cereal, hot chocolate and chocolate milk and make my own homemade liquid creamer (with caramel flavor) with it. I will definitely buy this product again.

It is a very fine powder, as opposed to most powdered dried milk, which is a rough granular product. There is an immediate feeling of assurance that the product is distributed evenly with this product since it dissolves so quickly.

Whole milk powder is something I use every day in the kitchen and for A high level of quality has been consistently demonstrated in Hoosier products. In my opinion, they use only excellent sources, and I hope there are no fillers in their products. There are no complaints about the taste, and the quality reflects the price. As well as their dried goods, I also buy other items from them. Any of their products is hard to go wrong, according to me. I would say that it is worth it, though it may cost a little more.
