Guittard butterscotch chips may melt after six months, but I don't know for sure. They have been in my possession for over a year, and I have not used them since buying them over a year
This not a product made in a facility that processes peanuts and/or tree nuts. I bought them for that reason.

The butterscotch pieces will be used to make my annual "Christmas Crack", a similar candy to almond bark, but with an added butterscotch flavor. As long as I am trying to melt butterscotch morsels of another brand, I will give up. There were other reviews that noted their parcel had arrived melted, so I assumed it must have been due to the time of year and weather conditions during transit. As the weather grew colder, I placed my order in the fall. My planning did not prevent these bags from arriving united, at least half of each had fused into one big bag despite my best efforts- despite my best efforts. I found that the butterscotch flavor was delicate and not as apparent as with the "other" brand. I didn't have any success with the app, but it may be fine for other users. I absolutely love the taste of these chips, they're creamy and their scent is amazing! As was supposed to be on the back of the package, I made the recipe and it was a little too "cakey" for my taste, but I can't wait to incorporate them into a chewier cookie recipe. The fact that they are extremely sweet should be kept in mind when you are cooking A chip in a dark chocolate cookie or brownie would make a wonderful balance, and nuts or chocolate do the same thing. Unlike other chips I have had, these arrived in perfect condition as well, no melting issues. I also like that cane sugar is used for this product and there are no soy ingredients. No artificial flavor or fake taste here, just a great taste.
This one has a very rich, creamy texture and clean, fresh fragrance. There has been a lot of negative backlash (including my own) following the change in texture and lack of flavor of the "N" brand. You get what you pay for with Guittard, as their products are top notch.
This is the best butterscotch chip to buy if you want real butterscotch and find that the ones sold in the stores right now are very chemically flavored.
