Questions & Answers

Is sorghum now a part of the ingredients list?

Although sorghum isn't listed as an ingredient, xanthan gum is.

What's in Pamela flour, and what are the ingredients?

Scroll down to the bottom of Pamela's Baking Mix for a complete list of ingredients.

Why is it being sold for twice as much as it should be?

I'm not sure why it's so much more. However, you'll need a good gluten-free mix. This is superior to the majority.

Does this have a long shelf life?

It's been at least a month for us. Like most flour, I expect it to keep even longer in the freezer.

For the past 12 years, Pamela's has been a regular in our home
5/5

For the past 12 years, we've been gluten-free. For the most part, we've used Pam's to make pancakes, crepes, waffles, and banana bread, and we've never found a better pancake blend or recipe. We do like to use a different flour blend (Bob's Red Mill GF 1: When making waffles, however, use only one blend. It has a mild, nutty flavor that goes well with breakfast foods. br>br> You can make fluffier pancakes by combining it with another flour blend or simply adding an extra egg (we make a batch and a half but use two whole eggs). Leftover pancakes keep well in the fridge and are tasty when reheated. If you enjoy leftovers, warm them up. (We do. )br>br>Over the years, we've done a lot of experimenting with this. It will work with egg substitutes, applesauce in place of eggs, and so on. When making waffles, however, it does not work as well with applesauce as an egg substitute. They have a terrible tendency to stick. (I've learned a valuable lesson. ) )br>br>I despise not having this combination on hand. During COVID, it was difficult to come by. But that's because it's a fantastic product; most of our non-GF families and friends who have tried it want to replace their pancake mix with it - However, do not do so due to the cost. It is what it is, and there is nothing that can be done about it. Families who must eat gluten-free are aware that their food budgets are likely to be much larger than those who do not. Continue to hope for a different outcome.

It's delicious! You won't be able to tell the difference between this gluten-free pancake and any other pancake
5/5

It's absolutely incredible. I like that it contains almond flour, which adds protein, making it a complete meal with carbs, protein, and fat. It has the same consistency as my mother's pancakes! Because REAL maple syrup is gentler on the liver and pancreas, I only use it. I follow the recipe exactly, adding a pinch of cinnamon to help balance the sugars and cooking on medium heat (5. 5 on my stove) in a non-stick pan For the oil called for in the directions, as well as the pan (a tablespoon), use a stick pan and ghee. Before flipping the cake, I pour in the batter and wait until the top is bubbly and dry around the edges. It makes two large pancakes (enough to fill my 8" pan) or four small pancakes. For me (at the age of 79), one large pancake provides a complete meal. I haven't attempted to make anything else yet. I've tried a few, but Pamela's is the best!.

Without Pamela's Pam, life isn't the same
5/5

cakes. This is something we really enjoy doing. On most days, it's what we eat for breakfast. With this product, I can make buttermilk pancakes on our griddle, which makes my gluten-free life a lot easier. He makes the batter and helps us turn the pancakes. On other days, I get crepes made with this fantastic batter. I was hesitant to gush about it because it can be difficult to obtain. I just want to be open about it and say how grateful I am to have this pancake mix. Most cafes and restaurants are out of my comfort zone, but this product has made it more than bearable; it has made life enjoyable for me. I'm not sure what I was doing before we came across Pamela's. Of course, I recommend it as a product, but I hope it does not become difficult to locate.

The new packaging is a bit perplexing
5/5

January 20, 2022: Update: br>I ordered a bag in the same old packaging as the one shown on the product's Amazon page (orange with teal band displaying product name and "Pamela's" in the corner on a black circle), but it arrived in new packaging; Look at the photos. I was perplexed because it says it's now processed on equipment that also processes wheat, but it has the Certified GF logo on it. The bag was previously labeled as being made in a gluten-free facility. br>There's some clarification on their website about this, and I've included a photo of it for your reference. In a nutshell, it remains gluten-free. Original review: br>br> br>Texture is very similar to wheat ones, tastes a little almondy but I like it. br>br>I was diagnosed with celiac disease six years ago and it has been difficult to find replacements for certain foods. br>br> Of all the various types of mixes I've tried over the years, this is my personal favorite. It's also a hit with my husband!.

It's ideal for gluten-free baking at home and has a nice texture
5/5

I've been gluten-free for a long time, long before it was fashionable, so my experience with gluten-free flours, both homemade and store-bought, has given me some good and some bad results. Pamela's mixes have performed admirably in the kitchen. I've realized that making my own gluten flour mixes is less expensive, so I rarely purchase Pamela's Baking Mix or flour mix. When it's on sale, however, I don't hesitate to buy a big bag and enjoy some fresh baked goods!.

Good taste, but not a lot of oomph
4/5

This was discussed on the web in the Keto diet group. Because I'm having trouble with my blood sugar levels, I thought it would be a good idea to try it. Carbs are a little too much for me. But it makes decent pan cakes; I found a cheaper and better-tasting alternative, which is why I gave it a four-star rating. If you're looking for gluten-free, this is probably a better option than low-carb. for the treatment of diabetes It's still enjoyable, but it's not my personal favorite.

For pancakes and baking, this is the best GF substitute
5/5

I've tried almost every gluten-free product on the market. This is by far the best oil-free alternative for baking and pancakes; I make mine without any oil, use two eggs instead of one, and milk instead of water; my kids love it, and I add vanilla extract. I've been using it for three years. This year, I used it to make peach cobbler, which everyone loved!.

Excellent flavor and a fantastic price! I've experimented with a number of gluten-free options
5/5

I used to get free baking mixes, but I didn't like the consistency or taste of them, so I tried Pamela's and I love it! I used it to make pancakes, and my husband said he couldn't tell they were gluten-free. They're also a hit with my grandchildren! Pamela, thank you for making such a wonderful gluten-free product!.
