These were, to put it bluntly, a waste of time. I followed the recipe for the batter and cooked it on an electric grill to keep the heat under control. They would not brown, and when the outside was finished, the inside was still raw in a few spots. There's no fluffy pancake here; instead, there's a disk that would be more useful as a frisbee. I'm not joking when I say the chainsaw was difficult to use. Goodbye, breakfast, and into the trash can you went, unfit to eat. I've always used Stonewall Kitchens, but I wanted something that didn't require me to plan ahead for things like milk and eggs. I will never spend another dime on this brand.
These pancakes were rubbery, not fluffy or tasty, as some reviewers claimed in their comments. br>br>These are the worst pancakes I've ever had. I meticulously followed the package's instructions. br>br>I bought this based on the reviews. It's possible that the majority of the reviews are fictitious. I have no idea. br>br>I guess that's where my money went. br>br>I'm not sure why there are so many positive reviews. br>br>Don't waste your money, in my opinion. br>br>Reviews are something I don't do very often. This is the first time I've felt compelled to do so.
I was taken aback by the amount of salt in it: It has a significantly saltier flavor than other brands. I ordered three bags, but two of the bags with newer expiration dates went bad as soon as they were opened, smelling rancid.
This mix appealed to me because of the positive feedback it had received. This just goes to show that Amazon reviews aren't always reliable. Either they were fakes or the people who ate them had never had a real pancake before. It takes a long time to make these. It has the texture and flavor of rubber by the time it's done. It's not even close to being fluffy. I've tried a variety of pancake mixes, ranging from instant (like these) to those that require milk and eggs. This was the worst of them all.
I normally make my own pancake and waffle batters, but I wanted to try something new. This is a unique situation. I followed the instructions to the letter and experimented with both non-stick and conventional frying methods. a stick of butter, a cast iron skillet, and a waffle iron This is a glue-like substance that is pale and rubbery in appearance. It's strange, and it's really, really bad. Why would anyone feel comfortable eating this or giving it to their children?.
This is an excellent combination! I've never tried it with waffles, but it makes the lightest, fluffiest pancakes I've ever had. I even reduce the recipe to one or two servings and frequently include fruit. There has never been a batch that was not good.
Pancakes are one of my favorite foods; I can eat them all day for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and I do so at least once a week. I'm constantly on the lookout for the perfect dairy-free pancake batter. These are fantastic; they take a little longer to cook than other batters I've tried, but they're light and fluffy and delicious. Even my difficult to please daughter enjoys them. We've made them with blueberries, cranberries, almonds, walnuts, pecans, chia seeds, flax seeds, almond milk, rice milk, and water (not all at the same time). They're consistently delicious. I'm not convinced that this is the best pancake batter, but it's a close second.
We used this batter to make both plain and banana pancakes. It's great that you only need to add water, but nothing beats homemade pancakes. Even though I tried not to overcook them, they still have a chewy texture. They're a bit of a mishmash, but they're fantastic overall. I'd buy them again if I were traveling, rather than when I'm at home and have everything I need to make homemade pancakes. But I don't have any children or other obligations that prevent me from devoting the time and effort required to make homemade pancakes. If you're a parent or simply don't have the time, this is a great compromise; I'd give it a 4 out of 5. I'd give this mix five stars, but I think rounding up to five is fine, especially since it's organic and relatively healthy.
