When I received my can, it had the following printed on it: aug. There is no year code on the can that I can see. I'm guessing it was made around the time I recurved it. I received the can in October of 2019 and assumed it was still relatively new. I've purchased several of these pancake mixes, and they're always fresh and delicious; I highly recommend this product. We make these all the time, adding our own eggs and milk for extra nutrition, and they turn out fine; however, I've noticed that if you don't add extra eggs, the pancakes come out a little fluffier.
Yes, the date of manufacture is printed on the can. You won't have to worry about dated products if you buy directly from Amazon.

This is the third time I've purchased pancake mix. It appeals to my tastes. The condition of the can when it arrived is the subject of this review. The damage to the can was on the can before it was packed, how do you know, he asked, well, the plastic lid was not on the can or in the box, it had obviously been knocked off while the can was rolling around on the floor, and the black marks on the can could have been from a shoe. OK, I can and will use a lid from another can, and I will order this again, but come on, you pack and ship a broken can with no lid? Because the can was not broken, I know the mix is fine and will not be returned, but this shouldn't have happened.
When compared to homemade pancakes, these are just as good if not better. As an update, I just received my second order of this pancake mix, and believe it or not, the three and a quarter pound of this fantastic product is less expensive than any other pancake mix on store shelves. There is no need to add oil, egg, or milk because it mixes with just plain water. This company produces excellent products in general, and it also works well for waffles, despite the fact that it does not say so on the container or in Amazon's product description.
We live in Florida, where a tropical storm with no name can cause as much havoc as a hurricane. For storm season, we purchase dehydrated food from Auguson Farms. It's as simple as that. The pancakes are light and fluffy, and they are delicious. Grandma's cooking has a great flavor to it. The measurements, I've discovered, can be adjusted to your preferences. One cup of mix to half a cup of water is the recipe's recommendation. They came out too thick for me the first time, so I used 3/4 cup of water the second time and they were perfect, and the third time we added mini chocolate chips and they were AMAZING. Your family won't be able to tell the difference.

The item arrived in a bad state. Dented in an awful way, allowing botulism to enter the product, making it unsafe to eat. Please exchange for a more secure item that is not damaged!.

This is far more convenient than gathering all of the ingredients, measuring them, and then mixing them together. In just a few minutes, you can make pancakes with 1/4 cup of flour and water.
Yes, we realize this is a "survival food" item, but we guarantee you won't keep it for more than 25 years. This mix makes thick, delicious pancakes that are light and fluffy. Simply open the can and stir to make perfect flapjacks every time; the price is reasonable, and we've used many cans to know that Augason Farms consistently produces high-quality products. This, as well as many of their other products, comes highly recommended.
