Questions & Answers
I find this cocoa powder to be far superior to Hershey's cocoa powder. A Valrhona has a flavor that is full-bodied and intense. Even just the aroma gives you a hint as to how good it is.
The mineral cadmium occurs naturally in all soils, so it cannot be extracted from cocoa powder or found in any other food product. I have studied most of the research on Valrhona, however, and it appears to be one of the least calorific powders.
The Dutch have processed it.
It doesn't say anything about being Fair Trade on the label.

Even though it was sold within a month of the date of sale As a result of a "best-before" date added to the container by the seller, this product was stale and The Valrhona cocoa powder I use in my cooking is something I have been using for at least 2 years and have bought a number of cans. The color of the fresh product is a dark rich brown, almost black. When I received this product, it looked like cocoa powder mixed half-and-half with pink food coloring Incorporate half-and-half in your recipe I will not buy from the seller again since it appeared to be a very pale beige. It was clearly well past the shelf life and past its usefulness.
The message I received was dated June 2 There was an expiration date of 11-2011 for the card and it was on 20 The most unacceptable condition for any food product, let alone one that is expected to be of the highest It is not a purchase I would make.
Valrohna Cocoa is my favorite, and the cover up of the Best Buy date usually makes a huge difference to the taste, but not when it is We cannot accept returns for a product that is over a year old. You should therefore be careful when buying.
My relationship with Amazon started several years ago when I became aware that if I wanted to devote more time to baking, I needed better ingredients. Thanks to Amazon, I am able to buy quality ingredients beyond my local grocery store and the big box stores. I thought I would give it a shot because it had good ratings. Since I switched to Valrhona brand, my husband has even noticed an increase in flavor in everything I have cooked or baked this year. Everyone raved about my brownies this year thanks to this chocolate heaven. I just wanted to share this note with other dunderheads like me, I couldn't figure out what the heck I was doing. I can't for the life of me figure out where to start You need to figure out how to get the lid off of Because it came unwrapped from the container (even though it was sealed), I had no frame of reference, but it refused to sit in place. It fell off onto the top shelf in the cupboard, and since it was on the top shelf I had my husband get it out, and then I flipped the lid over and it fell off into the drawer. Then snap! I assure you, it does not go the way you imagine! In other words, flip the lid if it's not locking! You might as well flick your lid at this point.
There is no better cocoa powder out there than this one. The color is so deep, and the texture is so rich. My favorite thing to do with this is to make gelato. The frosting is perfect for cakes, cookies, and a variety of other baked goods. Other than this, I cannot use anything else. On the downside, it will stain your clothes if you get it on your skin.
It arrived in very poor shape, and the product was damaged in Valrhona was spilling powder everywhere since its box had been opened. In the process, it also got into the Domino sugar package, which was shipped with it, and now both have I don't see why money and product would be wasted.
There are several problems with it, including its excessive price. The second reason is that I much prefer Droste. To me, Droste has a deeper meaning and more depth. The taste is fuller and the cocoa fat percentage is slightly higher in Droste. I do agree that it seems to be a high quality cocoa powder, unlike Hersheys which I also rate as blah- We don't want it. Please be aware Speaking as a cocoa connoisseur, let me say that I enjoy it enormously. The only thing I am not good at is baking.
