Just enough dutch to give it a darker appearance to the customer at a low cost to the business. 100% dutched would be nice but not profitable at all.
It's made of polypropylene plastic and has a special wrap-around paper label that looks like metal. It's neither a "can" nor a "tin."
They all had the same date: 02 015.

First and foremost, I'd like to point out that this is unsweetened cocoa powder, which is bitter. If anyone looking at this item doesn't realize it's cocoa powder for baking, it's not a hot cocoa mix. It can be used to make hot chocolate, but it will require the addition of sugar. br> I like this cocoa; I think it tastes great, very chocolatey; however, taste is subjective, and when I mix it with vanilla ice cream, it makes the ice cream seem sweeter to me, so it tastes good to me. br> Hershey's "Special Dark" is described as a "blend of natural and dutched cocoas" on the label. Natural (unprocessed) cocoa is more acidic, whereas dutch processed cocoa is treated to make it alkaline; natural cocoa is stronger and more bitter in flavor, whereas dutch processing (alkalizing) it reduces bitterness and gives it a (relatively) milder flavor. I believe Hershey's blended the two types of cocoas because natural cocoa contains flavonoids, and "dutching" the cocoa destroys (and reduces) the flavonoids, so they blended the natural and dutched cocoas to make health claims about their cocoa. In other words, it's a marketing gimmick. Before I got this Hershey, I was using a 100% dutch processed extra brut cocoa powder that had what I would call a purer or truer chocolate flavor. br> I don't know for sure, but baking with this Hershey's blend might be a little tricky because the combination of acidic natural and alkaline dutched cocoas might result in a ph neutral cocoa powder, which means you might. . . and I emphasize might. . . have to use different amounts of baking powder or soda than what your recipe calls for to achieve the desired effects (such as proper rising), you might have to experiment a little. Chocolate cake, frosting, and mousse recipes can be found on the label. br> So far, I've only made one batch of brownies (which turned out fine), but I've mostly used the Hershey's to add chocolate flavor to vanilla ice cream or vanilla pudding. I believe that the two cocoas in this blend give it a flavor a little more like a hot cocoa mix (which is ironic considering what I wrote about it not being a hot%.
This is fantastic and has the most delicious flavor! If you like dark chocolate, you'll be glad you switched to this. It has a lot of flavor and makes the best frosting. It's also a nice change from regular cocoa powder. We've been making the cake on the back of Hershey's containers for years, and when they came out with this dark flavor, we decided to try it. Let's just say we've never gone back to regular cocoa, and it's always a popular request wherever we go: Plus, I was able to purchase the 6 pack for a great price; the container in the store is smaller and more expensive than regular cocoa powder, so finding this deal was fantastic, especially since this is the one we currently purchase.
For a more adult, bitter dark chocolate taste, this is the best cocoa on the market. If you're looking for a rich chocolate packet, this is the place to be. To make a real winner, combine boiling water and 1 tablespoon Special Dark. Update. I had to re-read it because it was so good. a new Sixth-Order-Order-Order-Order-Or pack. The product was delivered on time and in excellent condition. There are no signs of tampering on the safety labels beneath the lids. A new winner has emerged! That's three (3) pounds of cocoa at an average of eight dollars per pound. Per canister, there are ounces! Yum!.
This is the brand of cocoa to get if you want the richest cocoa flavor for baking smoothies, but I especially liked it for oatmeal. You'll smack yourself in the head in a few months when you look back and see how much money you wasted going to the store over and over when you ran out and buying cocoa one at a time instead of buying this. I'm rambling now, but this is an excellent option.
This was a bulk purchase for the two years that the novel corona virus pandemic was most likely going to take to end. It's good enough for a long-term lockdown. It's preferable to risk a trip to the supermarket with a crowd of idiots who aren't wearing masks.
On a whim, I picked up this cocoa. I was looking for cocoa powder in bulk and came across the special dark version, which sounded interesting. When I made my first batch of brownies, I was pleasantly surprised. The brownies were dark, almost black in color, and tasted like a cross between Devil's Food chocolate and Oreo cookies. The brownies reminded me of black tar heroin, so I made a joke about it. This cocoa is of pharmaceutical quality. br>br>Many other reviews said it wasn't as good as the Hershey's cocoa in the silver can, and if that's true, I can't imagine how good it must be.
Their new formula has left me very disappointed. I used dark cocoa to make the best chocolate cake, but this cocoa is lighter in color and doesn't taste quite as good. I'm hoping they'll go back to the old formula. This is the cocoa equivalent of Coca-Cola.
I usually buy generic cocoa powder, but I thought I'd give this a try. The chocolate flavor is stronger and richer. Depending on your needs and preferences, this may or may not be desirable. It goes well with my custom-made low-key outfit. Recipes for carbs Chocolate cake, chocolate cream cheese, and chocolate shakes are just a few of the chocolate desserts available. Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate, chocolate, chocolate, chocolate, chocolate, chocolate, chocolate, chocolate, chocolate, chocolate, chocolate br>br>The only thing I'm not sure about is how it'd work in Chicken Mole!.
