My salad dressing of choice has been around for a long time. It is mixed with red wine vinegar and either very light- or very dark- The mild olive oil from Costco or the mild (not virgin) olive oil from the supermarket The Kirkland Mediterranean blend oil, used according to the measurements on the Good Seasons cruet, is always perfect. Slice up some sweet tomatoes (cherubs work best), squeezing out the juice as you slice. Add some Dress the salad with the dressing, and toss the pieces of tomato and tomato juice together. The most delicious salad you have ever had! For even better results, if you have a slice of Italian or French bread, soak up the dressing on the bottom of the bowl with it. In addition to being delicious on potato and green bean salads, this dressing is also great on chicken.
It has been a part of my life for a long time, and I have used it with my parents. The Italian wine is MUCH better than bottled Italian wine and more versatile as well. If you use any flavor of vinegar (balsamic, wine vinegar, apple cider vinegar, raspberry), it will change up the taste. I really enjoy this material. Even though it says to mix it according to instructions, I don't mix it that way. My favorite way to use it is to sprinkle it on salads with olive oil. You don't need to add additional salt to this stuff as it is very salty. It is also great for sautéing vegetables. Salad dressings don't have this long of a shelf life, so I love to have this on hand.
It has been over 25 years since we have used this Italian dressing. Besides the reduced oil, I like the alternate mix proportions as well as the taste. The only broken package I received was in the middle of my order. Otherwise, I'm very happy with the product.
