To the best of my knowledge, butter is never used in mustard! Mustard seeds, vinegar, water, spices, and other ingredients are used, but no butter is used!
A few reminders on an old question. Basically, this is vinegar. It won't spoil if you keep it past the "expiration date," which is a misnomer. This is a seemingly random "best before" date. It doesn't tell you when something isn't safe to eat anymore. It's a date set by the manufacturer as something they'll guarantee the TASTE of and encourage you to rotate it out of your pantry and buy another. Some products do lose their consistency and flavor over time, but mustard is safe to use for at least a year after the "best by" date. " The so- Most consumers are confused by the term "expiration date."

It's not a good idea to go through with it. Grey Poupon mustard is a tasty condiment. This is most likely something you already know. Still, buy it in store rather than online, as the package will be stored in conditions that are unsuitable for food items like this, particularly during the summer. The glass container and lid seal are likely to be damaged by rough handling. Temperature changes, particularly in the summer heat, are likely to cause your lid to pop, providing a pathway for botulinum bacteria to enter. Because of the food nature of the product, supermarkets and your local market get more robust packaging for bulk items, as well as a supply chain that is probably closely monitored for temperature. Make sure to buy your mustard through stores so you can have that peace of mind.
The lid was already popped when I got my jar. That isn't going to work in the long run. Grey Poupon was a great mustard when I was younger, but I'm not sure if it's gone bad or been tampered with now. I believe the lid popped open during shipping. I gave it a shot (probably not a good idea), but it lacked the Dijon zing. I don't want to eat it, so it goes in the trash. I agree with the first reviewer; this is a common issue when purchasing from Amazon. I'm not sure I'll buy this on the internet anymore.
I've tried a few different brands - even those that are natural This one is still the best; I tried this brand in a squeeze bottle, but I'm sticking with the glass. It's a lot easier for me to work with. Maybe it's just a psychological thing, but I prefer the jarred version. The texture, in my opinion, is unique. This particular purchase was also extremely cost-effective.
For the same amount of product, the price has TRIPLED - between $5 and $15 That is so kind of you. Thank you very much, M. Thank you, Grey Poupon, for your corporate generosity during a difficult time. I'm sure you're well aware of the possibilities with the jar I was about to buy.
It's something you should use on a regular basis - Salad dressings, sandwiches, sauces, and so on. I'm glad I can get the larger jars at Amazon for a reasonable price (on par with what I used to pay at the market when it was available), and delivery was lightning fast.
I use this mustard to make sauces for fish, chicken, and vegetables, and it's fantastic. The flavor is the best Dijon that can be found. I also like that I can buy it in a larger size because I use it so often. I recommend it for any type of cooking or spreading.
My husband is only interested in grey poupon mustard. In the supermarket, he dislikes the plastic bottles. We go through it quickly, which makes the smaller jars available at the supermarket less useful. I had not intended to buy mustard online, but it was the only way to get the size and brand we needed.
So I bought it here for a reasonable price, though it would have been slightly cheaper if I could have gotten my usual large economical size at my usual store. In case you were wondering, Internet GP tastes exactly like store-bought GP.
