Since I had eaten at Malnati's in Chicago and had heard that it was great, my expectations were high. It is however quite disappointing to find out that this is not the case. Pizza flavor was above average to very good, but still not as good as the ones you get at restaurants. The reality of this situation is something I accept and am ok with. These frozen pies were of a disappointing size when they were delivered. little pies were about the size of a personal pizza, but not nearly as deep/thick as the deep dish pies you can My expectation was that the four I ordered for Amazon delivery would/should be the same size as the large pie you get when you buy them I would have been willing to pay the $24/pie cost if it had been as appealing as it sounds. It was like that, and I wouldn't pay more than $10 per item. The price is way too high for a pie of this size.
In the beginning of my review, I would like to tell you that I have eaten a deep dish Chicago pizza at Although the flavor was there, it was still not as good as if it were freshly There was something I expected to happen. Chicago pizza is like a slice of heaven, the cheese softens as This cheese did not do that to me, that was the first thing I noticed. I feel like it's a dumbed down version, or all of my actions have been changed by freezing. Two of them would have been sufficient I don't know why I had to spend $100 to get four of them. Rest of it will be given as Christmas gifts. It leaves me disappointed.
While they're certainly better in person, this is a decent substitute until I can get there. Besides my friends and family from Chicago who have never tried Lou's pizza, I also bought this pack for a gift. The fact that this is something I can share with others is great!.
Let me tell you, though, it is marvelous. I'm totally a thin crust Guy, and I have pizza weekly at least. I saw this pizza online, and it looked good. Currently, I'm waiting on the second order to arrive. Rather than just a bunch of dough, it's full of all sorts of ingredients that give it great flavor. I like this pizza because it has a lot of flavor and is not like the normal Chicago pizza. The package was extremely well-packed. My personal preference is to cut the sides off the pan that it comes in, because it usually has better results if I do this. This is the pizza you have to try if you're a real fan of life. In and around here you can find some really good quality pizza places, but they're quite expensive, and they're just not as good as Chicago-style When I did the math, I found that the price is basically the same for a better product. I'm very happy I did. This is the first time in a long line of them. The freezer is going to have to make room!.
This is my favorite pizza, thanks to Amazon for carrying this brand! The crust has a unique flavor, and the cheese and sausage are always perfect. Oh- and the sauce is just right! This crust is only about 3/8 of an inch tall without the outer crust. It is not worth the premium price. A thin crust Chicago pizza is not deep dish at all. Avoid these pizzas if you want to save money.
Despite my attempt to locate a great pizza in my town, I was unable to do so. I purchased four of Chicago-style pizzas. This is the second time I have bought them. The items were packaged in a styrofoam chest and covered in dry ice. They arrived frozen solid and had been very well packaged.
