There is sand. A few of us got hooked on smoked baby clams, and we're currently looking for alternatives. Considering the price and low sodium content, cottonseed oil (hopefully hypoallergenic)("olive oil" unless it's extra virgin is usually mixed with corn oil or soy oil) is what attracted you to this product. Although it has a tolerable taste, the product isn't that great it leaves a bitter taste in your mouth I like the way it smells and tastes like raw seaweed Compared to the fried flavor that is present in the smoke, the fried flavor is not perceived as much. There is only one major negative aspect, it The reason I'm getting another brand instead of Roland is because of this. Not all of the clams are well washed and have a lot of sand inside.

These were good for the price

They had a pleasant flavor and were reasonably priced I took away a star because this team has a little more grit than others I've dealt with. It might be because I bought a pack of the same brand instead of buying one can at a time. Other than the gritty bits, they are good and I plan on returning for.

In addition to seafood in oil, I don't consume any other seafood. When I visited my mom I was not able to find this item on Amazon. I used to have to travel to Connecticut to find items like these.
