A long time ago, those things were On the bottom there is the packaging that used to be assigned to "original" clams
3/5

In the top right corner, you can see the packaging for I like the old ones because they taste great. It's awful that they've brought out new ones. Nutrition labels can be found on food packaging. fat, cholesterol twice as high, carbohydrates twice as high, protein half the amount, calcium half as much, and iron nearly half as much. Aside from the sodium reduction, there is no other benefit. Hodgkin's lymphoma is a blood cancer for which I am a survivor. As a result of my treatment, my body produces fewer red blood cells. It's important to me that my work is of the highest quality You can consume iron-rich foods that help make these cells, such as clams. Since the clams are low in iron and bland in taste, I will not be purchasing them You need to do your customers a favor, Crown Prince! Getting back to the original clams is the way to go! In the case of the change, the company obviously made a cost-cutting decision. However, if the new taste doesn't put customers back into the fold, how much will the company recover? It was great once, now it is This is what I used to purchase, and it was great
3/5

It would've been better if I listened to other reviews that said the clams degraded dramatically once they were The smoked clams were awful, and I was still willing to buy them since I love smoked clams. I'm not sure if I want to eat them because they taste so bad. Still, I managed to eat a few cans and got through, but there are still plenty sat in my pantry, making me lonely It would be great if the good clams were brought back!.

This dish had a wonderful texture and taste
5/5

My experience with the smoked oysters in olive oil at whole foods disappointed me, so I tried these baby clams. They had a very meaty texture, it was quite a surprise to find out they were actually clams! It is also simple and smooth, with no gritty or mushy These clam chowder pickles are very flavorful and would make a perfect addition to It has been a week since I received my package, so I decided to try a can to see if they were as delicious and nutritious as those at Whole Foods, and they were just as good. I like the green box of smoked baby clams because it is loaded with flavor and has plenty of calcium, iron, and zinc. As long as I keep my mineral levels high, I'll be taking a can every other day.

Produced in China, but tastes good and is a good source of iron and protein
4/5

Though I am not an expert or connoisseur in the field, I find these to be quite You can bring them to work as a snack because the flavor and smell are mild (important if you want to bring them to work). The whole peele did not smell like seafood when I brought a can of these to the office. Although not much, I can feel a little grind when I chew them (I don't see much sand or shell in While they taste a little bit like sardines, they are mostly mild and creamy in taste. The price of $2 also does not seem to be too high. There is a tax of $7. 87 added to each can. Anything else in the middle About as much would be spent on a snack during the day. This is just what I need to boost my iron level, and I really like that it has a ton of iron (130% RDV) and a bit of protein, making it the Olive oil is a big plus since it helps to keep them fresh. As to quality, I'm only giving them 4 stars because the country of origin is China, and I am not sure how clean the water in which they There are no guarantees that it is BPA-free on the can, which represents another serious disadvantage.

This tastes like nothing at all
3/5

I accidentally poured half of a can of these into a Campbell's Chunky Clam Chowder. I may be spoiled from eating real clams, but I wasn't. My suspicions were reinforced when (accidentally) the half-empty can fell to the floor. Campbell's has tiny pieces in their chowder, and I assumed that I had gone overboard. The taste was still unrecognizable. I could go to a store and buy them for crazy prices, but I am even more mad that it didn't have any clam flavor. After finishing my soup and eating half a can of clams, I had a bit of leftover soup. My final choice was just to eat the rest of it from were no flavors to speak of. There was literally a taste of rubber in it. I could not detect a hint of clam or seafood flavor. My experience with this product is awful, and maybe I got a bad batch of the product, but I would never order them again considering the price. I can get fresh, cheaper clams at the local grocery store as well. In order to prepare for times when I don't have that option and to have them stored, I bought these. Taking them all into account, I won't be able to rate these higher than 1. A little rubbery, no flavor, and a texture much worse than fresh steamed In the end, I wasted almost $30 on 12 small cans, which were a net weight of 5 ounces, not the 10 ounces of clam that they claimed. There were very few items to buy and most were way overpriced. From the great reviews I saw on this item, I thought I would go by their opinion, which I do not do, but I was out of luck as there weren't many to buy.

There's little flavor and the texture is mushy
3/5

On crackers with smoked baby clams was one of my favorite snacks. When I opened the first can of these, I was horribly disappointed. As a result, I disposed of the can thinking that it might have been bad. As of today, I have tried a new can and the same has happened The texture was very mushy and the flavor was very weak. These would not even be eaten by my cats! You should skip these and save your money instead.

This was once a great product that has suffered a significant drop in quality
3/5

I agree with both the previous two reviews, saying I did not like the taste of the clams I received recently. When these smoked clams were available they were the best I used it in a variety of dishes because it was mild and flavorful with a mild smokey taste. This is a completely different product now, which is far less tasty and discolored. The clams are now much tougher and tasteless. There is even a difference in the taste of the oil. There was once a distinct difference between 100% olive oil and a blended It tastes more like some cheap vegetable oil now. In my opinion, Crown Prince should go back to using their old clam source as soon as possible, since this product is no longer the wonderful product I've come to expect. I will never buy these again if that is the case.

I love this food
5/5

It's great to find something like this. This is something that we will always have in our pantry. Extremely tender and we appreciate that they are packed in water, without a lot of sodium, and from the wild. This is an excellent product. I highly recommend it. For me, this is an added benefit The iron content is high.
