These are the best brand I have try, and are for a darn good price where I stand.
I admit, they look a little funny colored and almost like there is a dusty white thing on the outside, but it is just naturally crystallized Sugar. Holding it by the stem and eating it is my favorite way to I like the texture of it - the inside is thick but it does not feel dry Keep in mind- As this is organic, there are some that might be a little sour or a little harder to chew, but the majority of them are delicious. In addition, you need to keep in mind the top and bottom little bits will be hard since the stem will be there and the end where the flower used to be still has a little circle on it. It's good to nip off the circle and not eat the stem when the circle is hard. I'm the one who does that. Several of them had been given to me as a gift, including the small version in a bag. Once I got hooked, I couldn't stop. As an after-school snack, it's resealable, and you should try it at least once.
Having bought many figs online, I don't think it's easy to find dried Smyrna figs that taste good. There are a lot of mixed reviews about this brand. It was almost impossible to eat mine because they were so dry. A crystallized form that is strong and hard like a rock. Perhaps there is a relationship between the season and the weather. You might be more likely to succeed if you buy them in the fall. In the future, I will make jam from these figs. When I order Black Mission figs online, it's more of a sure thing. They are usually delicious, soft, and tasty. There are times, however, when it will not work. There was once a time when I had to request There were too many treats for them.
These are one of my favorites. These are a good substitute for fresh (which can be very expensive here and get moldy surprisingly fast) since they are not fully dried and more versatile. They must be refrigerated though, however. In addition to being costly, they are easy to make and there is no waste. One of my favorite recipes uses soft goat cheese (or cream cheese in a pinch), chopped walnuts or pecans, It smells like seaweed and honey. It tastes like sea salt. As a matter of fact, I would plant a fig tree in my yard if I could.
The brand I usually avoid is this one, but I was out of my favorites, and I trusted this brand, so I decided to add it to my order and pick up It was amazing to see. The cake was extremely tender for Smyrnas, is dried so that the sugars leach out and create a lightly crunchy coating on the outside. Excellent. The next time I order these, I will.
A bitter, very dry snack, packed in a pamphlet stating that serving size is "about" 3 figs, and per packet there are about 5 servings. In the package, there were only 10 figs.
In some rare cases, Smyrna figs can be very dry and stiff. There are a lot of those I don't like There is something sweet and soft about these The figs were great, and I will order them again, to keep on hand. It is only unfortunate that they are not Calmyrna figs, since we can get them fresh in California or packaged slightly but not completely dry here These are the only ones I will refer to.
How else could they have been.
The figs are of good quality, and they have a mild fig flavor and a sweet taste (but not too It would just be like eating a dried fig). I like these seeds as a snack. They are soft on the outside, but chewy on the inside you can definitely distinguish This is the best fig dish I've ever had. There is nothing added (just figs), especially no sugar added.
