Eight of the twelve cans had dents, some of which were quite severe. I'm not sure I'll be able to use them at all. I haven't tried any of them yet, so I can't comment on their flavor.
Amazon is critical in the current covid crisis. This item, on the other hand, appears to have spent years in a basement. At least six of the cans were discolored and appeared to be leaking from their seams. It increases the risk of botulism or worse in canned goods.
I've already opened the package (thinking it was just the way they labeled them), so I'm unable to return it. I was ecstatic to find out that BPA-free products were available. I got some free black beans, but now I have to figure out how to use an entire case of lentils. I double-checked to make sure I hadn't ordered the lentils by accident, but the error was not mine. Amazon has never let me down before, but this time it has.
I purchased a dozen of these cans. Unfortunately, the first two were only half full of beans, with the remainder being water when I opened them. There were only 130g of beans left after draining the water. I allowed for it because mistakes happen, but it turned out that this was the case with all of them. These beans are particularly appealing to me because they are plump and flavorful. I make two servings from one can, and I add onions and ground pepper to enhance the flavor. It appeals to me because it is gluten-free and does not contain any soybean products. The price paid was well worth it.
