In good condition, with no trash or odd bits in the bag, and with intact hulls, the beans arrived. My favorite way to soak seeds is to soak a tablespoon of them three days ago, and rinse them a few times a day. Most of the seeds are sprouting now, if not all! Grass sprouts have not been harvested yet to comment on their taste or quality, and I'll update this post when they are harvested. However, as to the question of viability of sprouting, I would say these are very much in the realm of this.
As I opened this package, I was surprised by how many beans there were. With us, you definitely get more value for your money. In my experience, I have used them mostly as sprouts in recipes, and they are crispy and yummy. The next time I make soup, I'm excited to try it.
As most of the mung beans sprout well, I got these to sprout. They sprouted at a lower rate than I was hoping for and the leaves were brown (old?) With the green seeds you'll find some black (black seeds mixed in). I did not see any sprouts from the brown ones.
Since I make a lot of bean sprouts, I bought these specifically to sprout them. The batch that I have is not doing well. cooking is concerned, they do a great job. In order to make sprouts, I will need to contact my previous supplier.
They were bought for spouting. I tried them twice and neither spouted, so I guess I am going to use them for cooking.
There isn't much difference between this mung bean and the one I bought on Amazon before.
These are the ones I just got. made my own mung bean sprouts, and after only two days, I have seen a few sprouting. I am looking forward to seeing how the sprouts grow. feel smaller and have a different vibe from what I'm used.
The taste is great and it contains fiber and protein in abundance.
