I'm not aware of any umami flavor. Even without adding spices, the burgers and breakfast sausage smell and taste better than restaurant fare. They have a nice char; are never dry and always moist; and immediately transfer from the freezer to the frying pan Nothing would be different if I were to do it all over again. Saves the environment as well as a valuable animal. It's a win-win situation all around!
2 burgers in a pack isn't worth it; the flavor is terrible. The Beyond sausages, on the other hand, are excellent; you get 4 in a pack, which is a better value for your money.
When I buy it, it always comes frozen.
This isn't a soy-based product. a TVP based No, it's made from pea protein and a variety of other vegan ingredients, and it resembles ground beef in appearance, smell, feel, and flavor.

They used to be wrapped in parchment paper and tasted exactly like meat. Now. They crumble in the wasteful plastic container and on the grill if there is no paper. I'm not going to buy anything else from Beyond Meat. DONE!.
These patties have a lot of potential for flavor, but it all depends on how you prepare them. On both sides of the patties, I seasoned them with a dash of salt and a crack of pepper when I first cooked them. I melted a spoon of vegan butter in a skillet and then added both patties along with some chopped onions to cook them. On a vegan brioche bun, it's topped with caramelized onions, tomato, butter lettuce, and veganaise. It's the juiciest burger you've ever had.
It looks, tastes, and cooks just like the real thing, but it's a lot better. There's no way to tell the two apart. There is no strange odor or aftertaste, and there is no animal cruelty or by-products. products. No soy. Gluten-free options are available. No dairy. There is a lot of protein in peas. There's a lot going on here. This item, as well as their link sausages, comes highly recommended by me.
I was so pleased with the flavor that I didn't feel the need to add any spices or salt to enhance it. I only wish it was more affordable: Isn't it a little pricey to pay $3 for a 1/4 pound frozen patty?.
I had my heart set on these because so many people said they tasted exactly like regular burgers. They don't appeal to me at all. They smell like wet dog food, possibly even worse than some brands, and taste like seasoned dog food with a bouncy texture. My SO adores them, and we often joke about making "doggie burgers" for dinner, but I think they're just a meh food that I find palatable but not particularly fond of. I believe it is a matter of personal preference.
The packages I received were different from others I'd received, and I was looking forward to making my next purchase. This one made me want to refrain from purchasing anything else in the future. It seemed coarser when chunks of something, say 1/2 the size of a pea, were added, almost like biting into a nut. I've bought a lot of them in the past that didn't have this and had a texture similar to meat. It was off-putting, but it could have just been this one shipment that wasn't fully processed or something. I'll probably buy another pack eventually, but after buying so many and finding that they all had the same texture, I'll be hesitant to buy more until the consistency of good texture is established.
My father is on a ketogenic diet, which means he can only consume up to 20 grams of carbohydrates per day, and he loves this brand's Beyond Meat, which is high in protein and contains no trans fat. They're worth every one of the 540 calories! They take less time to cook than regular burgers and only spit a little. The only problem is that learning how to cook them to your liking takes a little practice; I prefer mine rare, while my father prefers his cooked. It has the potential to fill your home or kitchen with smoke. The flavor is incredible, and it tastes exactly like a burger should. I like to put a slice of Chao vegan cheese on top and cover with a lid over low heat until the cheese melts, which takes about 1 minute. 3 minutes after the last item has been removed from the oven. They will stain any pans you use and make dishes a little more difficult to prepare, but they are so healthy and delicious that I can't stop eating them. For burgers, the thickness is ideal. I prefer the patties over the burgers because they are more difficult to consume. However, I continue to purchase both for the delicious variety. I've never had an issue with packaging, and they've always arrived fresh and delicious. I hope this information was beneficial.
My carnivorous husband is a convert to the Beyond flavor, which is superior to the impossible brand. I like how you thaw them in the fridge instead of cooking them from frozen. The packaging appears to be a tad excessive-looking. There's got to be a reason for the big plastic trays.
