The one I've got came in on Wednesday, March 21. By March 22, this date should have been used. It has lasted longer than a year and I have not experienced any problems
My opinion is that it isn't the case. In spaghetti sauce I use ground beef, or I put it in tacos, like in taco meat. Soy curls are available under a different brand, but you must purchase them separately.
As far as I know, yes. Besides "textured vegetable protein", this substance can be called "creamy vegetable protein.". On the label, you can find more information.
If you are not buying it from Whole Foods, the price has risen to some extent due to the shortage of this product.

As a first response to the pandemic, prepare to take shelter My local grocery store had a big bin of TVP at the bulk bin, so I decided to buy a bunch. Television & Video Production hasn't once occurred to me since I was a vegetarian/grunge in college in the 90s The end of the year is here! However, I decided it would be a good protein to have on hand. It has now become a staple in my diet this year, and I make my own seasoned "ground beef," meatballs, and chili using While Bob's is a bit more expensive than bulk, 2020/2021 is the year to pay attention to Bob's. The only good news is that I can order it now. Takes on any flavorings you wish to add.
The company I have used for 40 years now was TVP, but this is the first time I've bought Bob's Red Mill products. The first thing I made with this product was vegan lasagna, and it turned out great. I am satisifed with the taste, texture, and versatility of this product. I even had my husband rave about it, who is not usually a fan of vegan food. Despite being in a rush, he ate an entire pan of it within one week. Bob's only has smaller bags, so I wish I could buy this from him.
TVP had an aftertaste when I tried it years ago, so I waited a long time to try it again. I finally decided to give it a go this year. As Bob has good reviews on this flavor, I decided to give it a shot. I enjoyed it a lot. My second order of it is now in the mail. My favorite ways to use it are in spaghetti sauce and in sloppy joes. Add a few spoonfuls of broth powder or soy sauce to the rehydration liquid to make it taste better. Once it's soft, I sauté it in oil with the onions and peppers until it's a bit brown.
Next, I'm going to use it in tacos. (I tried to fry some of them with a little bit of stuffing like patties. The word yuck sums it up. This is not the way to go.
Television pasta makes for incredibly versatile, versatile food. I have used Television pasta for tacos, pizza, pasta sauce, and so on. It softens easily in warm water. A small amount of water is boiled in our electric kettle, and I then add the TVP and the seasonings that I want to the bowl, and then add a small amount of bouillon and miso paste to the bowl. Just used this product to make deep dish pizza in Chicago style over the weekend. As soon as I flavored TVP to taste like sausage, I couldn't stop eating it. Suppose my son wants TVP for a sandwich and he requests leftovers of just that. I had such a good time. If we had a cup of tea during the prep process, once we're hydrated and cooked, that'd usually substitute for at least one pound of just whatever ground beef we were intending.
While it is a bit sweet, it does mimic the texture of ground beef quite well, but it is not nearly as good as real ground beef I like it better than this, but it's still okay. The reason for the 4 star rating is the price increase over the past few years. There are a lot of things that are ridiculously expensive these days, and this is no exception (try getting soy curls lately), but even at the inflated price, it's a fairly good deal and does deliver.
The texture of this TVP is really nice and it absorbs the seasoning well. I've tried other brands and this is my favorite. Taco mix or as a topping for ground beef subs works great with tomato sauce. It has been more than 40 years since I ate meat, so I can't recall what it tastes like, but I've served it to meat eaters and they loved it.
It's great to have When it comes to Bob's Red Mill, you can never go wrong. It is actually chili and spaghetti that I have made One of my coworkers asked me, "I thought you didn't eat meat. " when I brought my chili to work. She asked me what they were. I told her they were Her first conclusion was that it looked like hamburgers!.
