Is this the type of Portuguese sausage that the Portuguese make?
I've never been to Portugal, so I can't say for certain. BUT, for our traditional family dishes, my grandparents (both Portuguese) will only buy this brand. I hope this information is useful.
I just spent $3 on a pack. Why is there an 88 at Winco?
Because the 'HOT' version is only available in a few grocery stores, I'm guessing this seller is pricing based on supply and demand. I half-expected it to be plated in gold! But here's the bottom line: Even so, it's still very tasty.

In Hawaii, I used to buy the hot kind, but they no longer sell it in the markets. It's especially good on King's Hawaiian sweet bread.
