Is the grass-fed beef finished on the grass?

Hi there- Regarding our Pasture- The majority of the cattle's diet is grasses throughout their lives, which is why Raised Ground Beef is so popular. When pasture is available, the cattle have access to it, and when fresh grass isn't available, they have access to stored forages. They are given a supplemental ration of organic, non-GMO food during the last 90 days of their lives. GMO (genetically modified organism) grains Consumer Relations at Organic Valley/Organic Prairie

What country does the beef originate from?

Hello Nancy, Our Pasture Raised Ground Beef comes from a US-based organic farm cooperative. Thanks!

The animals are vegetarian and pasture-raised. Is this to imply that they were also fed some sort of grain?

Hello! On behalf of CROPP Cooperative, the makers of Organic Prairie and Organic Valley products, we'd like to inform you that our farmers use pasture-based farming methods. based production, which means cows must have daily access to the outdoors, sunlight, and fresh air, with the exception of extreme weather conditions. When the pasture is in season, the cows eat fresh grass. Organic forages are also provided to all of our cows, especially during the winter. Grass, hay, silage, baylage, and other types of "green feeds" are all examples of forages. Hay is simply plant material that has been dried, such as grass or alfalfa. Fermented or "wet" plant material is what silage and baylage are. Grass and forages make up the majority of our cows' diet. Pasture-raised cattle were used to make our Pasture-raised beef. Raised Ground Beef is also given an organic, non-GMO supplement. GMO (genetically modified organism) grains Corn, wheat, barley, soybeans, oats, field peas, and flax are among the grains that make up this mix. Depending on the nutritional requirements of the cows and the time of year, different amounts of each grain may be used.

The inclusion of gristle, cartilage, and bone detracts from an otherwise delicious product
3/5

My issue is that I'm only able to get through four books at a time. Before you have to spit out a piece of gristle, cartilage, or bone, you can take 5 bites. This has been a problem for some time, but it now appears to be getting worse. I have at least 5 of these pieces to spit out when I make a portion of about 1/4 of the package. It's very unsettling and takes away from my enjoyment of the product; I deal with it for myself for nutritional reasons (otherwise excellent quality), but I would never serve this brand to guests.

Pat LaFrieda should be brought back! Pat LaFrieda was out of stock on Amazon Fresh, so I bought this
3/5

The Organic Prairie version was inferior. It had bits of gristle and bone in it, a red slurry around the edges, and the "good" parts tasted chalky and liver-like when I cooked them up. Grass has never been a foreign concept to me. This was not tasty, even though it was grass-fed, organic ground beef.

Bad
3/5

The meat had gone bad, was browning through, and reeked like hell within a day. The first time I opened it, I noticed the core meat was starting to brown. It was no longer edible the following day. I won't be placing another order. I'd rather pay a higher price than become ill.

There's a lot of gristle, cartilage, and maybe even bone in there
3/5

I would not purchase it or recommend it to anyone. While the few parts that were just meat tasted fine and cooked well enough, the grind was so coarse that there were chunks of gristle cartilage and probably bone in there that made it inedible once cooked. br>It was my own fault for not reading the reviews ahead of time. br>While the few parts that were just meat tasted fine and cooked well enough, the grind was so coarse that there were chunks of gristle cartilage and probably bone in there that made it inedible once However, the neighborhood's stray cats appeared to enjoy it. br>I only used about a third of the package, and I'm not sure what to do with the rest because I won't be serving it to anyone. I'll ask some of my cat-owning friends if they'd be interested in getting it for their pets. At the very least, time and money will not be wasted.

Tough, and unlike any other Organic I've tried
3/5

I was a little let down. I usually get my meat from Costco, but I had good luck with some Amazon chicken and decided to give it a shot. I expected something along the lines of what I get at Costco. Not by a long shot. It had a tough, chewy texture to it. It was brimming with gristle. It was difficult for me to simply break it apart to cook it. I had forgotten what it was like to eat low-quality meat, which had a bland flavor. I prefer my beef to taste like beef; I don't use it as a base for a lot of other flavors or as a flavor enhancer in a more elaborate dish. This had a stale meat flavor to it. It's not that I'm spoiled; it's just that I'm getting on br>br>If you have the opportunity, skip this and go to Costco. The trip was well worth it.

If you're lucky, you'll get lucky
3/5

Meat had a tough texture and an unpleasant odor. However, because I tossed the package and the trash was thrown out, I didn't have the opportunity to check the expiration date. If you order this, best of luck. I despise the fact that most of the food I've recently ordered from Amazon Fresh has turned out to be hit or miss!.

Upon arrival, I was spoiled
3/5

I was really looking forward to trying the Organic Prairie Organic Pasture- 85% lean ground beef raised and ordered 4 - Packages weighing one pound It had a foul odor when it arrived, and it was obvious that something wasn't quite right. It's a good thing this meat wasn't served to my family because the spoiled meat would have made us all sick. This was an extremely disappointing outcome.

It's not uncommon for food to spoil before it's due to expire
3/5

I've ordered this meat several times, but it's spoiled on both occasions before the expiration date. When I first opened it, I noticed that it smelled. Then, because my nose was stuffy last night, I didn't notice until it was too late. Unfortunately, the entire family became ill as a result of the food poisoning.
