We hadn't had gyros in over two years, so I took a chance and ordered these. I was not disappointed in the least! These come in ten one-pound packages, which is only enough for one family meal. These are the best ever for topping Greek salads or gyros made with pita, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and tzatziki. They're better than our old favorite Greek restaurant, in my opinion! They're also halal, which is a huge plus in terms of taste and health.

I completely disregarded the warning on the package not to overcook and decided to wing it. br>The first time we tried this, it tasted good but was more like gyro jerky. br>The second time - Here's how to achieve it. br>Because I didn't have a griddle, I pan-fried this instead, which required no oil. Using a nonstick pan is all that is required. The meat will cook in its own fat, as you can see. Don't overcrowd the pan with slices; six at a time will suffice, and because they cook so quickly, the first batch won't have much time to cool. br>I pan fried the slices for 2 to 3 minutes per side on medium to high heat. br>With tongs, I placed the cooked slices on top of a paper towel to absorb any excess fat. br>(optional) I then sprayed the gyro meat with lemon juice and placed all of the slices in a clean pan over high heat for a minute, tossing the slices around with tongs to evenly distribute the lemon juice. When the package arrived, it was cold and frozen. Solid packaging, packed in dry ice. The gyro meat is delectable and comes pre-seasoned. When I make gyros with this meat, my family goes crazy. It's some of the best-tasting meat you'll ever have, and it's already seasoned, so you won't have to season it. It's a bit pricey, but it's well worth the money. Makes excellent gyros and gyro Greek salad, even better than some of the local gyro joints. Purchasing this item is highly recommended.
When my order arrived, I discovered that it contained 750 mg per serving, as stated on the package. I'm extremely disappointed. Your advertising on this site, in my opinion, is deceptive and false. I have a sodium-sensitive metabolism, so I would not have ordered this product if I had known how high in sodium it was.
It comes in ten containers, each of which is individually packaged. Four people can be fed from one box. The flavor is fantastic. We saute in a cast iron pan until it's hot and charred a little - yum. Grilling the slices is also an option. We will most certainly place another order.
This is a great way to use presliced Gyro meat. Fresh strips from a vertical spit aren't quite as good, but they're close. It does have a lot of fat in it, including some trans fat. It is very simple to prepare a delicious meal.
