They really make the colors of my succulents pop when I top dress the soil with them. This type of pebble allows the soil under it to breathe rather than trap moisture, making it a great choice because they allow the soil to breathe. The herb can be used as a top dressing for lithops and other succulents, and it does an excellent job.
