Thanks for reaching out to me, I am glad you asked! Thanks for your question. It is generally impossible to lose a stalk without losing the plant as a whole. If you prefer, you can remove the yellow stalk when it starts to shrivel and die. Take a picture and send it to us! Below you will find some basic advice on caring for your plants In most cases, direct sunlight can burn the leaves of plants unless they have become acclimated to it slowly. Placing the plant in an area with light morning shade, but some afternoon sun will be best. These areas need to be either as close to windows with sheer curtains as possible, or as close as possible to a patio. In general, it is recommended to water the plant once every seven to 10 days, and to adjust for your individual environment as necessary. When the temperature is cooler, the soil takes longer to dry and dries out faster when the temperature is warmer. If the drainage hole does not fill, be sure to water the plant thoroughly enough to allow it to drain. When watering, you should always poke your finger into the soil about 2 inches deep to check if it is dry. The soil on the bottom of the plant will retain moisture if it sits in any standing water for an extended period of time. While the top of the soil is drying out, the bottom may still be wet. In this case, overwatering may occur by accident. With a wooden bamboo skewer (or with a plant moisture meter), you can check deeper into the soil. You can place the skewer as deeply as you can and let it sit for about 15 minutes. The soil is still moist further into the pot if the skewer is damp. The misting of leaves is great in helping to prevent pests, but be sure not to let the water sit there. If leaves are left standing in water, a disease can develop and they will go brown. Ensure that the plant is kept at a warm temperature, above 60°F. You should avoid drafts caused by the windows, AC/heating units, entryways, etc. A big thanks goes to this information.

After it was received, the plant started showing signs of failure, even though it was beautifully presented. The professor of my daughter's biology class helped her with the assignment. We found out that her professor identified the plant as a Dracaena, which, she said, is in the asparagus family, and she said this is not a bamboo As a consequence, the term "lucky bamboo" is not the same as "bamboo" It is very important that you read the product description Though beautiful, the plant was not able to thrive in a dorm setting (it could have been the dry heat and lack of light).
However, the first package was broken. I love the product other than the broken packaging. The replacement was handled without issue, which I am grateful for. They replaced it with one, however, that does not seem to be as great looking as the one I had. Although this plant looks much better than the first, it is not as full and vibrant as it once man in the left photo was the original and the man on the right was a replacement.
See below the photo of the one received on May 24th, today is July 9th. At least one piece of the puzzle is already gone.
I was impressed with the product, but what really impressed me was the way it was shipped. It is a rock solid package that ensures a superior product, shipped in a wonderful ceramic pot, will remain both superior and wonderful. Likewise, the documentation about how the plant needed to be cared for was clear and helpful. I received a plant that looked pretty much identical to the picture (when does that It wouldn't take me more than a minute to order from these fine folks again!.
You can clearly see that the item was damaged while in transit. The customer service department has not been contacted yet, but I will do so shortly and am hopeful they will resolve the problem.

The pot was cracked but the plant was beautiful. As I did not want to send it back, I super glued it to prevent the crack from spreading. Considering how nicely it was packaged, it made me think it was already packaged like that and they probably.
