CAREFULLY SELECTED INGREDIENTS: Our delectable Halvah candy is made with only the finest ingredients. For a smooth and cottony texture, our Halvah is made by hand in traditional large copper bowls.
✅ A NATURAL CHOICE - Our Halvah is made from 50% crushed sesame seeds known as tahini paste. It is nutrient dense, protein rich, gluten free, dairy-free
VERSATILE TREAT - On its own, Joyva Halvah makes a delicious snack. Our sesame tahini candy can be crumbled as a topping, baked into desserts, or even added to a gourmet cheese platter.
TRADITIONAL RECIPE - Nathan Radutzky, Joyva's founder, sold his first piece of Halvah from a pushcart on New York's Lower East Side more than a century ago. We still handcraft this old-world sesame treat with our original family recipe today, and we invite you to sample it.

Questions & Answers

Is this the same product that you'd get if you bought a Halvah bar?

The product in the can is identical to that found in Joyva 8 oz packages. The tin I received was surprisingly fresh and moist, and I think I liked it better than the package, despite the fact that you have to scoop out the amount you want; the two bars that come in the 8 oz packages make it a little easier to measure a specific amount.

What ingredients do you use in your hulva products?

I don't have a can with me, but I did find the following ingredients on an Amazon listing: Crushed Sesame, Corn Syrup, Sugar, Partially Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil (Cottonseed, Soya), Dried Egg Albumen, Natural and Artificial Flavor. br>I hope this information is useful.

What are the ingredients in this dish?

Palm Oil is listed as the fourth ingredient in the March 2019 can.

Why is it in the picture that it says "six pack"?

I'm not sure why it says "six pack" on the label - The 36-inch model is what we usually go for. Packing has always pleased me, as has the promptness of delivery. Furthermore, the end result is extremely pleasing. The Chocolate Covered 36-Cup Cake is now our favorite. Halvah is a sweet treat that can be found in a package.

1 year freshness date on real Joyva quality marble halvah
5/5

I've had my eye on this genuine Joyva Marble Halvah made in New York City for a long time. Oh, and it's kosher! Their canned Halvah is far superior to the Halvah Bars; it's essentially the same product, but it's fresher because it's in a sealed can. br>This is the second time I've ordered this item. The first order, as seen in the photos, included a Best By: The label has a date. My purchase was made over a year ago. There was no excess oil, only a small amount of sesame oil, as you can see in the photo. Halvah had a firm crumbly texture that was neither dry nor greasy; it was just right! In comparison to halvah bars, there is less oil. br>In my second order, which I just received (no photo), there were no Best By: dates. When I looked at the date on the label, the product did not appear to be as fresh as it should have been. Hmmm. In any case, this Halvah is one of my favorites. Everything is made of palm oil. My issue is that I can't keep myself from succumbing to temptation. Yes, I'm sure I'll place another order.

However, if you've never tried halvah before, you might enjoy it
3/5

If you've ever had real halvah, you'll give it a three-star rating or less. First and foremost, non-profit organizations. The flavor difference between mass-produced'marble' halvah and marbled halvah can be seen and tasted throughout. This isn't a marbled piece of artwork. When you open the can and get past the oil slick, the halvah is a gray color when you remove it from the can. There isn't any marbling to be found. You won't be able to tell the difference in flavors, or marbling, as they call it, because every bite will taste exactly the same. br>However, if you've never had halvah before, you might enjoy it; however, I wouldn't recommend ordering the'marble' flavor; instead, order the regular. Once you've tried this halvah, chances are it'll only get better with a subsequent order from a different company. This halvah is mass-produced to an unhealthy degree. br>br>This product's delivery was also a disaster for me. It was overdue, and it was a blunder. It was routed, left out in the cold and heat, and had to have gone through dozens of temperature changes by the time it arrived (late). There was a pool of oil in the can when I opened it. I understand that halvah contains a small amount of sesame oil on the bottom or top, but this was oil soup. If you leave it at room temperature for a while, it will soak back into the halvah and, like magic, there will be very little oil left. br>On the other hand, if you want to taste authentic halva, I strongly advise you to avoid this mass-produced version. If you can buy it by the fresh slice in an international deli, you'll be able to enjoy it to the fullest; the rich, decadent flavor will delight you.

I'm a halva aficionado! ❤
5/5

Joyva halvah in the can is, in my opinion, the best way to go because it keeps the halva fresher than individually packaged. And, because it's likely to be fresh because it's sealed in the can, just scoop it out with a tablespoon, then scoop it out with a spoon without breaking it up too much. Extremely pleased with this product; this time I ordered six cans, one vanilla and five marble, because it is so addicting that I can't stop eating it. Seriously, I recommend this product because it reminds me of my childhood! And the flavor is fantastic, so if you like halvah, I'm sure you'll enjoy this! Thank you, Amazon, for bringing this one-of-a-kind item to the market!.

This is a contemporary take on halvah
3/5

Honey as a binder for sesame seeds? On the can I received, there was no mention of it in the ingredient list. Yes, there are sesame seeds, and the ingredients list also includes palm oil and corn syrup, making this about as 'nutritious' as the popular chocolate hazelnut spread. This has an aftertaste, possibly due to the fact that it is canned. "If you've never had the real thing, you might like it," I agree with those who say. "br>Please accept my sincere apologies, Joyva. This was something I was hoping to enjoy! br>I was born and raised in a major Eastern metropolis. On Saturday mornings, when we walked to the local deli, my father would pick up Joyva Halvah. In the glass-fronted refrigerated deli case, I clearly recall the brand name. To weigh halva, the store clerk would slice a piece from a large brick and wrap it in wax paper. Back in the 1950s, the texture of that halvah was fantastic, and the flavor was distinctive, rich, and delectable. br>Like everything else, this company has evolved to stay afloat, and the best way to do so is to make your own halvah. I haven't tried it yet, but it doesn't appear to be a difficult candy to make based on what I've read. It's not something I have to do frequently. This is a high-calorie, once-a-day meal. great- in the meantime, treat I'll start with Joyva Tahini, which is of excellent quality and only contains sesame seeds as an ingredient. Please, Joyva, don't mess with the tahini.

It's inedible, and it's described incorrectly
3/5

The halvah was dry, crumbly, and unfit for consumption when it arrived. I'll throw it out and request a refund because I won't be able to return it. The display ad appears to purposefully misrepresent the product, with the following text beneath the image: " About the product: Made with crushed sesame seeds and honey as a binder. It's worth noting that it doesn't say "about THIS product," giving the impression that it's a description of what's inside the can. It's not the case. On the can, there is no mention of honey as an ingredient. The lack of a picture of the ingredients list on the can is unlikely to be coincidental.

I couldn't even get it out of the can because it tasted like old gooey paste. The candy is typically light and flaky, and the brand is generally good. I have no idea what happened to the junk I received. I threw it away, and Amazon gave me a refund. Thank you so much, Amazon.

Stay away from this vendor because he is stale
3/5

As a birthday present, I was given two cans of Joyva Halvah. For more than 50 years, I've been a fan of this brand. It wasn't worth it- Anywhere on the can's date is a good place to start. The halvah was stale to the point of being disgusting! When the product is brand new, it should have a smooth appearance. Take a look at this abomination of a product: it's inedible and shouldn't have been sold in the first place.

Joyva Halvah is by far the best halvah available in the United States, and I've tried imported halvas from Greece, Turkey, Iran, Lebanon, and Israel
4/5

Joyva is an old Ukrainian recipe that they make at their Brooklyn factory, and they know how to make it (see Martha Stewart's visit to the factory). While their vanilla halva is delicious, I prefer their vanilla-flavored halva. Halva in the shape of a chocolate marble My only criticism of the vanilla halva is that it contains hydrogenated vegetable oils, whereas the mable halva does not. I've also discovered that their toasted sesame tahini is the best I've come across. br>This halva has been a favorite of mine since my mother first put it in a Christmas stocking nearly 60 years ago.
