A rye pocket is not quite like a Mestemacher, but is also not quite like a Finnish rye pocket. We were surprised by the taste of Rehe bread. Although it looks like an Orowheat "bread thin" from the USA, it tastes like a Mestemacher whole rye bread from Germany. However, it has the firmness of an Estonian rye pocket (although it is not as dry as that). It is unlike any bread I've ever seen in the USA or As opposed to the Eesti Pagar rye pockets, which contain 46% rye flour, this version contains 65% rye flour. Nevertheless, the rye pockets have fewer fibers and do not have the "rye berries" (unground rye) of rye. While there is only 1 gram of sugar in it (the rye pockets also have 1 gram of sugar), the taste is sweet. Unlike rye pockets, the Rehe has 110 calories per "loaf" and 50 grams of bread whereas, rye pockets have 57 grams and 140 calories per loaf. As opposed to the rye pockets I ate three daily in Finland, I enjoy the Rehe one or two times a week as an occasional treat, as opposed to the Mestemacher which is too moist, and also breaks apart when held like a sandwich. In spite of that, I would much prefer Mestemacher rye bread to any other made in the USA. A key factor to keep in mind is that Rehe is not a sour-tasting As I said, this is a bit different from a rye pocket from Finland, and even the Eesti Pagar rye pockets are not sour like I would expect them to be in Finland. So know this beforehand so you don't be If I recall what I read on the amest. com website, it is an Estonian bread made in a factory using the same recipe for more than a century. So it is Nordic, but not For the fact that it is tasty and something I continue to buy, I give it 5 stars. I do not wish to criticize you. All of my descriptions are only an interpretation of how the bread tastes. The interpretation you make of those characteristics is obviously up to you. In my opinion, the Eesti Pagar rye pockets and the Rehe can both be viewed as 5 stars and parts of every day.
When I was a teenager, I moved to the US from Finland. My access to rye bread was limited due to the lack of rye bread from Finland. In my dire need to get rid of my pregnancy cravings, I did a search online and I couldn't be happier. My Estonian and Finnish relatives are similar in many ways, so the dark rye bread (as well as their rye pockets) fooled me for some finnish goods (despite the fact that Finnish and Estonians share many unique aspects). My husband, who is American, loves it too, and my 2 year old also Two to three days are needed for shipping I've been shopping for just over 3 weeks, but none of my purchases have been that lengthy. It is most definitely going to be my next purchase.
As a low carb dieter, I am eating a low GI diet, but we need some good carbohydrates once in a while. Several people have expressed interest in Is composed of complex carbohydrates rather than simple carbohydrates. I added some Nova lox to the dish, and it was wonderful. The cream cheese and cucumber pieces make it a hit with my four year old son. The issue is that kids these days can't find healthy stuff to love. As an appetizer it looks great and tastes great with soups as well. This is a great site.
There is a lack of extreme chewiness and a sour taste, but I can accept I have not found a good substitute for Nordic Breads in NYC since they closed down.
In addition, I'm from a country (Finland) where rye bread is all over the place. As a result, giving 5 stars is a difficult decision, but in this case it is well deserved!.
I am in love with Rye's crunchy texture and delicious flavor make it a great sandwich bread. It won't get soggy like most American breads and it won't turn soggy like wheat bread. We have two kids (8 and 10) who love these cookies!.
Breads like this are great for testing purposes. I am very pleased with my purchase, specifically when I ordered only one and was surprised with a complimentary second loaf that I liked even more!.
In terms of flavor, it wasn't bad, but at the price I'd like something.
