Different things were done to the two different breads. The refinement of the rye, and how much wheat flour was used to make them will affect how they taste. As a result of the high cost of wheat, the Jews in Eastern Europe usually consumed very little wheat in their daily bread. As a community becomes poorer, its bread will become darker.

completely agree with their advertisement of 1 pound with an 1 lb of IRON RYE was the smallest loaf in my lifetime I have ever seen or tasted. It was dry, crumbly, way overpriced, and way too small.
Although the bread was expensive, it was just as good as I remembered! In the near future, I will reorder it.

I would order again. I would definitely recommend it! I think it went well. A real Rye, packed in a fresh rye bag.
