It was a nice change for me because I usually eat rye all the time. I got it on Amazon Fresh and it was very good. There are a lot of people who report that it went moldy rapidly. In the end, I simply squeezed out all the air and sealed my bread bag with a zipper and placed it in the refrigerator since the bread bag couldn't be tied back up. Despite its seven day shelf life, the food is still tasty. Although the flavor may be strong, it is still quite It has never crumbled on mine and has never been infected with mold.
In a Whole Foods order, this item was substituted for a loaf of fresh bakery pumpernickel. The scent was like that of raisin bread when it was opened. I could not detect any pumpernickel flavor.
