My son claims to despise gluten-free foods, but he raves about these. We had to place another order because we were out of stock.
Yum.
It was a huge letdown. There's nothing quite like snickerdoodles -.
I've read a lot of good things about it online. I like snickerdoodles, but not the kind sold by Trader Joe's. Instead of wheat flour, sorghum flour is used in these cookies. It tastes like a molasses cookie with a cinnamon and sugar topping. Many people will enjoy, if not love, these, but I found them to be doughy rather than chewy and overly sweet. TJ's deserves credit for making cookies available to people who are allergic to wheat, milk, peanuts, or gluten; while those ingredients aren't present, these cookies do contain xanthum gum, which has a caffeine-like effect on some people.
It's difficult to find tasty, chewy cookies when you have a lot of allergies. Although these aren't EXACTLY like original snickerdoodles, they're a delicious cookie that's a dream for those of us who can't eat the real thing.
