I was so dismayed to find out the company closed its doors after I had my favorite desert at Ms. Meringue. When I was doing my weekly grocery shopping, I came across these quite by accident. I was also trying to find my favorite cookie from Miss Meringue like many others here. This was the first product I tried since it was available It wasn't disappointing at all. Those were the ones I have tried. A few more buckets were ordered after I finished the bucket. You can compare their texture to Miss Meringue because it has a VERY similar melty texture. At no previous point in my life have I ever had these. Though I've seen toasted marshmallows and seen my late Grandmother make this treat, I've only heard that it's a Polish thing - sweet egg white treats - that are actually tasty, too - like this. But maybe she made it on both cultures? She was a Hungarian, after all. It doesn't matter how I looked at it I've had foods that were supposed to have similar tastes expectations, so I won't be able to say I went in blind. I was here to describe the taste of it. I have done some research and I understand what everyone is saying about it tasting like "chemical" and "bad egg". It is there for a short while, then fades away. I suspect it may have to do with how the baking/roasting process is done. On the ingredients, there was no description of what "sugar" was, so I am not certain if it is related to the sugar or in relation to It is important to remember that even if Splenda and the like are used, is still considered to be sugar by the In that case, the odd taste might be explained by the USDA standards. The package was completely crushed, and there was no way to return or get a refund for it. After receiving the package, I found it to be more powder than cookie. The sample I tried had a ton of sugar, so I opted not to eat it. It was also expected to have a softer texture. I enjoyed the light, crunchy, very lemony flavored cookie, but I felt it had a weird dry feeling on my teeth, and the sugar content was too high. It was a pretty disappointing purchase and I was very disappointed with the way it was handled and packaged.
