The only guess here is that it's yeast free, lactose free, saturated fat free, and cholesterol free. Lastly, I read somewhere that Schar is a European company (I believe it is Italy), so that may add to the cost. I really like this one.

While she enjoyed her sandwich, she really felt that the only butter on the baguette would be too much. I'm not a fan of these because within two days I found that the opened one was moldy and needed to be thrown away. Our bread assortment has been growing since we first offered gluten-free products, and we now know that gluten-free breads often mold faster than regular breads. There's a good chance I should have kept it in the refrigerator.
