Questions & Answers

In the description of the product, "blended for us water" is mentioned. What is to be done as the product adapts to the us water system?

It is important for gourmet tea drinkers to consider the level of maltiness in their or soft water can obviously affect malt. Malt is what I believe refers to the body of the tea, sort of like a small layer of There is more body when there is more malt. The body is thinner when there is less malt. Although I am not familiar with how malt tastes, Scottish Breakfast Tea (which is different from English Breakfast Tea) contains an extra malt blend to provide an additional layer of softness. I have no idea if any US-related factors are taken into account, perhaps with water.

What are the hazards associated with pesticides, fungicides, and herbicides?

My understanding is that it does not appear to be "Organic", which makes me think that there must be some type of preservative present. As far as I know, there are no specific types that are

Does it have black tea in it?

In the end, I emailed the UK customer service department, and we were given the SAME strong tea, only weaker
5/5

The quality control may be lacking for all the others, but based on what they emailed me about this discrepancy, it is possible that I had a great batch. The blend of tea in this box, as with all Yorkshire tea, is the same no matter where it is sold, however the amount of tea in the tea bags is slightly less because this box is for a specific market so yes, there will be a taste difference between the two. In the UK we like traditional Yorkshire Tea as it can be too strong so we adjust the weight based on the market in which it is sold so that people can enjoy it more. We also make the tea more enjoyable by reducing the strength. There is a distinct difference between our tea in the UK and our tea back home, as anyone who has tasted it both ways will be able to tell. It is my hope that this helps clarify things and if you are in the US and want full strength tea bags be sure to choose a box that is not a string-and-tag box. *P. S. The tea I personally used was no problem since I use two tea bags to make a sweetish milk tea with sugar and milk. Since I assume two bags makes a cup, it's probably the perfect cup, except that it's hard to determine how many bags equal one. This is not an original Taylors item
3/5

This is not the tea for you if you like British tea. There have been bad reviews for this tea, read them first. I'm an Englishman living in the US and this is not the traditional Taylor's tea I grew up with back home. Unlike most boxes, this one says on it that it is packaged in the United Arab Emirates for a company from California so it is The Amazon customer service team was amazing and I was able to get a refund for all 4 boxes I Although they aren't up to English standards, I will donate them to the local food bank because they are better than the weak Lipton you get from the grocery store. As such, this tea is not for top.

Unlike Yorkshire RED from the UK, this is not a red wine
3/5

This Taylors of Harrogate Yorkshire Red, 100 Teabags just arrived and I just like them. When I made my brew, I was drinking it and thinking, "This tasted awful!". After a really chalky shower, I felt like I was going to puke Tastes like wood and has a woody flavor. The product I had was not Yorkshire Red, and I've had this in the UK hundreds of times. Because I was convinced that others would have had the same reaction, I went to Amazon for help. As it turns out, all are commenting that it's made in United Arab Emirates. I checked my box and sure enough, United Arab Emirates was there. It's a waste of money to buy this tea. It tastes like the black tea you get at the dollar store. If you live in the United States, we can't get Yorkshire Red made in the UK, so just stick with PG Tipps.

The Yorkshire tea we have today is not the same as what we had in the past
3/5

On Amazon, there's a great price, but the batch of Yorkshire Tea I received wasn't the same quality as what I had in the past and also while I was in England. I noticed the box says the tea was packaged in the United Arab Emirates - a big disappointment! It isn't as prevalent in England as it once was. This is quite disappointing and I will now stick with Pog Tips. A UPDATED VERSION There is in fact something wrong with this Yorkshire Red tea, because it does not contain a blend of both Assam and East African leaves, only African leaves are used and of the cheaper variety. The quality of the bags is not the same as that of There aren't even any retailers in the UK that carry this variation of Yorkshire Red. Even though the price for 100 bags is very low and the tea does make decent iced tea, Yorkshire Tea does not live up to its hype. BEWARE, I will leave my review with only 2 stars.

She is an English woman based in the US who is married to a man from Yorkshire! In spite of the comments about this tea being not true Yorkshire tea, I bough a box to enjoy this Christmas and decided to ignore the comments previously left and give it a go I speak from experience as an English household living in the United States and assure you that the tea selection here is an improvement over the usual USA choice, but when you have been conditioned that tea is the main source of life (as we Brits are) it is horrid to drink
3/5

Boxes I have received state they have been packed in the United Emirates, while they are imported in California by a US company. There is no doubt that Yorkshire Tea is the biggest tea brand in the UK after PG Tips, and it is very frustrating to find out that it is not a quality product but only a cheap item by the same name. I cannot fathom why Taylors are working with this bad tea from the Emirates, especially since they print on this box, as well as all their other boxes, Taylors of Harrogate by Appointment to HRH The Prince of Wales with his Royal Crest. . . . the Taylors could be sent to the Tower of London for falsifying the quality of their tea bags if Prince Charles or the Queen ever tried these tea bags. I love it!.

There is no sign of proper British tea in this photo
3/5

It was too good to be true when I bought these - and it was. A lot of things about these are wrong. There are a lot of 'tea' bags, the smaller things with strings that are common in the United States. Here are some photos of the tea bags I cut open and took, and these bags definitely contain less tea than British ones. As you can see in the photos, there is more of the long brown string bits in this tea (so I assume it is part of the blend), so this might explain why the flavor seems a little off. It's disappointing to say that these make a barely passable cup of tea like the majority of tea in the US. As for me, I will continue to buy actual British Yorkshire Tea although my concerns about Taylor's business ethics of allowing it to be distributed in this manner are valid.

The UAE is the place where the Tinky Little Tea Bags are packed
3/5

Taylor's Yorkshire Tea is a favorite among my friends, but I noticed a couple of things this time around. First, the description is wrong about the weight of each tea bag (says 22 grams is actually My second point is that I was under the impression that the flavor difference was due to the two bags per cup we had to use. It now appears to be down to the UAE manufacturer. I will have to order much more carefully in the future.
