as described in the previous paragraph East Africa's tropical climate produces this product.
They are extremely high-priced, to be sure. Hibiscus flowers that have been dried to a high standard. I'm sipping herb tea made with three of the flowers as well as other herbs. They are exactly as they claim in their description. I have enough flowers to last me for several years. I removed them from the plastic bag they came in and placed them in a glass gallon jar with a metal lid, as I don't believe in storing anything in plastic for that long. My purchase has satisfied me.
They don't need to be washed or rinsed because they don't have any grit. In my house, this is currently a big hit. Every morning, my husband pours himself a large glass of wine. We used a tea infuser to steep the dried flowers, then poured boiling water into the pitcher. Refrigerate after adding honey or agave nectar - delectable!
I get the impression that they smell more like dried fruit than flowers.

I purchased this item thinking it was from Maui, but it came from East Africa. Not that this is a bad thing, but they also make a point of mentioning natural, gluten-free, and preservative-free, but no mention of pesticide-free. There is no mention of organic anywhere on the packaging. Worse yet, it's CA-certified. I bought two bags and will toss them in the trash because they have a 65 health warning, which none of the organic versions have.
I just got the package, and when I weighed it, it wasn't quite a pound. That does not make me happy. br>The package is a clear sealed bag with no writing on it. br>The flowers appear to be larger in size than some others, which are cut and sifted. br>I haven't opened it or tried it yet, but just be aware that you may not get the full pound.
Edit: Now that I've read the description, I see that it says it's 15-minutes. After drying, the total weight is 16 oz.
When I got the package, there was a hole in it as well. I assumed, however, that it was still secure. The plastic package didn't appear to be doing much in the first place. br>However, for the quantity and price, it's a fantastic deal, and I'm satisfied.
I'll be buying more of these because they're so fresh and flavorful.
I believe it has something to do with the word "sifted" in the product description, as it does not steel well and does not diffuse with the rich red color and taste of the first batch I bought on Amazon Prime.
Last year, I tried hibiscus tea to see if it could help me lower my blood pressure. I'm not sure if it lowers mine. I liked the first brand I bought, which was "cut and sorted," and then tried this brand, which appears to be a different variety of plant and does not taste or smell as good as the first. I recently bought another brand that tasted more like the first, which I liked after my first batch. I believe this is a different variety, but it looks very similar. The taste is slightly less sour, and the color is slightly darker red, but the smell is slightly funkier. I purchased and used three bags of this, and while it isn't bad, I prefer the taste of the other two (slightly more expensive) brands I've tried. The flowers are large and whole, and the product is immaculately clean, with almost no particles or small fragments. This is the ONLY hibiscus product I've found that offers a satisfaction guarantee or a money back guarantee. In the product descriptions of the others I bought, it said "no refund. " So far, I've only had limited hibiscus experience and have no real understanding of the plant. There appear to be numerous varieties of hibiscus and sorrel, with some claiming it to be the same species while others claiming it to be a distinct species. I doubt you'll find bigger or cleaner flowers than these, and I intend to drink hibiscus tea for the rest of my life. Give it a shot and let us know how you like it. I'm thinking about giving this brand another shot.
I can't wait until my tea is ready some mornings; OMG, my tastebuds are in heaven when I take my first sip; I've tried other Hibiscus teas, but this one has the most delectable flavor; I can't get enough of it.
This is by far the best hibiscus tea I've ever tasted. It has a berry flavor that is quite strong. It's great for soothing an upset stomach and is simply a delicious tea to drink hot or cold. It also offers excellent value for money due to the size of the package. Flowers that have been dried whole. So far, I haven't come across any stems. This tea will not disappoint you, in my opinion. The package is resealable.
