I'm on my third boba kit. This is a vile one. It is, first and foremost, out of date. I'm not sure how they're able to send customers expired tapioca. All of the balls and sugar were wet and smelled awful. Second, you can only make four drinks at a time. The cost is $7. 50 per cup. It's a lot taller than a store-bought cup. When compared to my favorite kit, the cost per cup is 5 times higher. It's just a regular 1 oz black tea, nothing special. I was fortunate in that I purchased this kit for myself rather than as a gift. I was let down. The only positive aspect is that it does not include plastic cups, so I am saving the environment.
This is not a new product. Packaging that is sloppy. br>br>The balls were not at all fresh. It was moistened and crumbled when it arrived at the address. Boba was watered even though I followed the instructions. The flavor of the tea was not strong, and it was possible that the tea had gone bad. In comparison to a tea cup purchased from a tea shop, I paid twice as much per cup. Only four drinks can be made. It's not worth the trouble. I'll come back because the description isn't accurate. br>br>Packaging is shoddy. The contents of the box were not stable. This is not a good idea.
The only thing that could have made the experience better would have been more tapioca pearls, as I ran out before finishing the tea. Furthermore, silicone or stainless steel straws would be preferable to the plastic straws that are included.
This is a fantastic gift for anyone who enjoys boba tea.
I've experimented with a variety of boba sets as well as purchasing boba from a store. The boba sets can be entertaining, especially if you want to try new drinks, but they aren't always worth the time and effort they require. It's as simple as placing an order with a store. For those who don't have access to a boba shop, they're the best option for a more authentic taste. br>br>Advantages and disadvantages: br>br>
- The flavor was acceptable. br>- Clear instructions and well-packagedbr>- It comes with four full-sized drinks, so it should be enough for a family. br>- If you don't live near a boba shop, this is a great option. br>br>Cons:
- It takes a long time to prepare - 1 hour and 30 minutes a number of stepsbr>- Because the tapioca balls spoil in a day, you'll only be able to make this once. br>- The price per drink is higher than most boba shops (over $6 at time of review). br>br>Overall, I'd recommend this only if you don't have access to a boba shop or if the person you're gifting the boba set to doesn't. Otherwise, going to a boba shop and getting a drink will cost you less money and require less effort.
What is there not to like about this? There are no Boba shops within 800 miles of where I moved! The nearest one is still 30 miles away, and making that trip is inconvenient. The loose leaf tea and bobas are delicious, and they taste just like the ones we buy at the cafe. Making this kit is a lot of fun, easy, and tasty. One thing that wasn't included in the kit was simple syrup, which you had to provide. It is, however, simple to make, and they provide detailed instructions. If you leave any uneaten tapioca pearls in the straw after you've finished, they'll continue to swell and become stuck in the straw. The quality of this tea, particularly the loose leaf tea, is well worth the price. It's a one-of-a-kind present that's also less expensive than going out to get bubble tea. This is something I would strongly recommend!.
Although the flavor is good, I don't care for the texture of the tapioca, and black tea as a base isn't the best choice for flavors due to its strength. My daughter, who prepares these at work, suggests using jasmine tea as a flavor base because it is easier to flavor. br>br>As a gift, it's nice, despite the lack of decorations on the cardboard box. Buying your own ingredients is more cost effective. br>br>The kit includes large boba straws, which work well.
Anyone who enjoys boba or wants to try it at home will enjoy this kit. You'll need your own milk or half-and-half, which I prefer, and the directions were excellent. It'd make a great present.
