A few weeks ago, I bought four bottles. The expiration date is January 6, 2021 It will take place on June 1, As you can see, this is how dates are written in the United States. It's an excellent investment for America (and the rest of the world).

DISAPPOINTED is the best way to describe my feelings. Although these are original HP sauce bottles from the UK, the recipe is notably different from the previous HP sauces I have purchased on Amazon, including bottles imported directly from the UK. It's hard for me to explain why the recipe is different, but this sauce is incredibly watery and too sweet In the "good" bottles, tomatoes are at the top of the list of ingredients as opposed to malt vinegar. This sauce is very secondary in my estimation to the taste of dates, which I find very important. But now, I'm going to consume these 4 bottles for the next year.
As a sauce, I used to have this on chips (fries), fish, and other dishes in the UK. It has an unique flavor that sounds hard to describe, but tastes absolutely fantastic and is something that immediately takes you back to the UK. This is a great opportunity for me to have it here! Ketchup is definitely no longer needed in the kitchen as this delicious condiment has taken over.

The HP sauce of old is not the sauce of today. This is a very sweet and fruity drink. For crying out loud, it's not even made in the UK any more. A version of this was served to celebrity chef Marco Pierre White and he returned it. This simply cannot stand the test of time. The world is a terrible place.
I love The 4 pack of HP was a great deal for us since we go through a lot of HP. My mom was unable to make it to Ireland last year as a result of COVID, so I included one bottle in a gift basket with other Irish food items for her. Her favorite is to add just a touch to a steak, but I love to put it on everything. Among others, you can find them on Irish sausages, steak, eggs, in shepherd's pie, etc.

. In the new recipe, there is not really a difference in sweetness, but, it does have a little less salt. You can see the salt is further on down the ingredient list, which means less of it is being used. Although you always taste the difference between the old and new formula, it doesn't taste the same because they changed the vinegar content (malt vinegar was first, and spirit vinegar was fourth, but now fifth), the onion extract was removed, and an unknown flavouring was added. I had seen a comparable American version at a local grocery store long ago, however it was not the same. This stuff goes great on steak, hamburgers, potatoes, stews, perogies, cabbage, and things of that sort. This is the sauce I prefer over ketchup or any other sauce. I received the package very quickly and there was a lot of bubble wrap in it. It has not been damaged in any way. The cousins from Ireland used to bring some very large bottles of HP to visit but, since HP is now available through Amazon, I don't have to wait for them to come.
It tastes the same whether it is made in different places or not, but I am glad to say that HP sauce has continuously been made since the old days I'm as gppd as I've ever been.
