Questions & Answers

What are the contents of this product?

A label on this product lists only 'Black Walnut Flavor' (water, propylene glycol, alcohol, natural flavors).

Can you tell me whether this bitters is old fashioned or cranberry?

In an old fashioned, this bitters works wonderfully as a substitute for angostura bitters

What is the difference between the description and the product photo? The description says 5 oz and the picture says 4 oz. Would you please tell me which is right?

Each bottle of water I bought contained 5 oz

Can you tell me how long the product has to be good if it is ?

This bottle does not have a "best by" or "use by" date, nor do any other bottles of bitters that I have, regardless of their manufacture. As a result, and this is by no means a "hard" answer, I would imagine that they would last practically forever unopened, and I know they would be at least valuable for a long time once they were opened. The bitters from both of these categories, as well as most if not all of the bitters, contain some alcohol. If you looked at this bottle for years, I imagine you would get tired of it longer than the bitters would last. You would probably not have an issue with the shelf life if you only use them occasionally. I would also like to add that these bitters are some of my favorite bitters of all that I've tried, and I've tried a bunch.

This Maple Walnut Old Fashioned is a favorite of mine Thank you for your kind words! Fortunately, these bitters have a subtle flavor and are It is not very powerful, so I usually have to use several dashes to achieve the desired result
5/5

I am ******** Add 8 healthy dashes of Black Walnut Bitters to a cup of tea - -Two tablespoons to one tenth of a cup of real VERMONT maple syrup (to taste) - I typically have two to three ounces of bourbon (I prefer Bulleit) or rye, depending on the season. A Luxardo Maraschino cherry and a little cherry syrup (these are not only delightful, but worth the price! It's ok to stir gently-)
- *Breakfast is served*- A peel of an orange - With the peeler, cut off a bit of a chunk. Using the (white) inside, rub the rim, then squeeze the oils into the drink. Toss the peel into the drink and stir until thoroughly mixed.

Here is what you need to know! It is amazing! What have I been doing with this stuff all my life? My husband, also a Manhattan lover, loves it in cocktails, but it also elevates salad dressings and cocoa
5/5

It should be added to something sweet/savory While it was delicious in cocoa, I tried some by itself. The word that came to mind was "bitter. " WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW! When you pair it with a vinaigrette or cherry, or a chocolate sauce, WOW! Thank you for your kind words.

Using my favorite bitters in this way is my favorite way
5/5

Bitters like this one are my favorite. I have come up with a recipe for my new favorite drink As its name implies, this is essentially a Utah sazerac, traditionally made with Absinthe, a liquor that is expensive and nearly impossible to obtain at the local state run liquor stores. It is too little to insist enough how little I replace it with ouzo. In order to continue, I simply 'wash' the glass with it and let any extra run out. Approximately 2 oz. Only a tiniest splash of Ouzo's taste can be detected in High West Double Rye. 1 - Fee Brothers Black Walnut Bitters (I prefer 2 but 1 will work well too. orange peel, the less white bitter pith the better, so I shoot for one thumb sized peel of just the zest. Enjoy it in a rocks glass over ice.
Warm up the rocks glass with ice and add all the ingredients.

Rye Manhattans are perfect with this addition! The bitters are nutty and well balanced
5/5

You can find the recipe You can add these bitters to your Manhattan Cocktail to give it a refined and nutty taste. I encourage you to give it a try! During a heated conversation with a local bartender about the perfect Manhattan recipe, we began to tweak it slightly. This could only be solved by making both his recipe and mine and having a taste test. Mine was clearly the clear winner, and it was because I added Fee Black Walnut Bitters. Our recipes were almost identical - it was just the Bitters that made a difference. It was the Black Walnut Bitters that won the game! . . . and serve with a Luxardo cherry (no bright red dye here). Strain into a glass, add rocks if you wish, or simply garnish with the cherry.

It has a great As a regular customer, I've ordered about 5 bottles over the years and will continue to do so in the future
5/5

The taste is authentic, and the flavor is clean. There are no perfumes or synthetic ingredients in this. The flavor of this spirit is superb in an Old Fashioned or a Bourbon and Ginger Ale cocktail. I have given a few as gifts because this is a great cocktail must. I hear you can use it when cooking so I may try adding several dashes to my coffee cake and pound cake recipes to see how they turn out this way. Walnut Bitters are one of my favorites.

This Old Fashioned has been reimagined in a fantastic way
5/5

The bartender of a local bar gave me a Black Walnut Old Fashioned a few Christmas' ago and I had to know what he I tried these bitters after he gave me the recommendation and they are fantastic. In my drink, I directly substitute them for Angostura bitters to give the drink a more earthy taste. As well as making the drink a little dark, I find that they make it a little darker than usual. An excellent purchase and a great addition to any home.

Your cocktails will be elevated if you do
5/5

While I have not been able to recreate that drink yet, it really reminded me of sitting next to a fireplace at Christmas when I first tried Fee Brothers' Black Walnut Bitters. Any liquor can benefit from this bitters, if you add it to it for an added dimension. As a result, I initially drank it in a gin drink, but since then it is a staple in my old fashioned or bourbon on the rocks in my lazy moments.

The Manhattan is that much better when it's this good
5/5

Manhattans are really good in the winter, especially if you have a fireplace. Sweet vermouth and rye are the standard ingredients in my cocktail. A walnut bitters substituted for anistura was recently discovered to my delight. The addition of woodiness makes the dish more appealing to the eye. Rye is 2 oz, vermouth is 1/2 oz, and three oz of vodka is 3 oz A shake of bitters for four shakes. The best way to drink is on It is delicious, so if you enjoy Manhattans, it is for you! If you're looking for the Bada Bing cherry, Amazon is the place to order them. Make sure you don't mess with Maraschino. Cheers!.
