WHEN THE BATTERY PACKS ARE FULL, THE CHARGER DOESN'T STOP WORKING! br>br>The most likely reason why reviewers complain their batteries don't last as long as they should is that they didn't use them "properly." " Because there are no instructions, they are likely to be confused. It's worth noting that these are NiMH (rather than Lithium or NiCd) batteries that have been wrapped together. NiMH batteries are notorious for having memory issues. Before you use them for the first time, make sure they are fully charged (for at least 7 hours). The real issue isn't the batteries, but rather the inept charger - It simply charges both batteries for seven hours before shutting down. If you use one pack and then replace it, BOTH of them will be charged for another seven hours, so don't do it. This appears to be intended for use with a single controller, with the battery being used until the console complains about low battery. After that, swap the packs so that only one battery is in the charger at any given time. If used in this manner, the batteries should last 11 hours of gaming before requiring / receiving a 7-hour trickle charge for approximately 700 charging cycles. If you use a battery pack for an hour and then put it back on the dumb charger that came with it, It (both) will be overcharged (for seven hours), reducing all of the batteries' capacity and/or cycle life. Instead, for $9, you could get four Energizer Rechargeable NiMH AA Batteries (2000 mAh) or better yet, four Bonais (2800mAh) and a smart AA charger like a UTHCracy, and spend only $17 instead of $23 for this setup with fewer issues, which is exactly what I wish I had done. At this price, I didn't expect it to come with a smart charger.br>br>Alternatively, they could have dropped their battery packs. Internally, NiMH batteries are very susceptible to damage. br>br>NiMHs keep their 1. Alkaline batteries, on the other hand, begin at 1 volt. The voltage difference is insignificant because it starts at 5 volts and drops to less than 1 volt. Also, the included charger should not be used to charge non-iPod devices. NiMH batteries are a type of rechargeable battery. Please do not dispose of these battery packs - they are still usable. Drop off your old electronics or batteries at an electronics or battery store to recycle.
I'm not sure why it says that because you don't need any batteries; all you need is a USB port that you can plug into your Xbox One.

Edit: I contacted Amazon, who informed me that these batteries will be removed in the next three weeks due to a safety hazard. 5 days for business. Batteries are known to melt and pose a risk of burns or fire. br>br>Worked perfectly for 9 months, then fried my brand new Xbox One controller (which had only been used for 30 seconds). For the past nine months, I've been using these for about 5 hours per week with my old, drifty controller. I bought a brand new controller at a store and plugged it in. My controller became hot in 30 seconds, warping the back of the controller and the plastic around the contacts, and melting my smatree battery. The controller was returned, and I had no trouble upgrading to a more expensive rechargeable batter set. I have no idea what's going on, but it's both lame and dangerous. They were excellent apart from that. If you're going to use them, make sure it's on something that's covered by a warranty.
I was looking for a docking cradle for my Xbox One controllers on Amazon because we were running out of AA batteries. All of the products I found, on the other hand, either had trouble holding the controller or melted it when the battery was overheated. However, after finding this product and reading all of the manufacturer's safety precautions, I decided to make a compromise, and when I received the package, the batteries themselves were far more high-quality in design and material than I had anticipated. The charging dock isn't particularly attractive, but that isn't necessary. The indicator lights function properly, and the cord is hidden, so it looks great next to my soundbar. It's worth noting that I was able to charge this by connecting it to the USB port on my Xbox, allowing me to keep it close to my console. This was purchased so that I could have a backup battery for my main controller as well as an extra battery for my secondary controller when I have visitors. Each battery only lasted about two uses. After 2 months, neither battery was working, and the lights remained green all the time, even when no batteries were installed. Because these were my "emergency" batteries, I thought it was safe to leave them on the charger. I was horrified to see a partially-charged OEM battery when I finally needed to replace it last night. melted charger, and a battery that apparently overheated to the point of leaking, warping and melting the plastic at one battery pack's end The piece broke off as it cooled. This is completely unacceptable! It's too late for a refund, I don't want a replacement, and I can't believe this product is still on the market.
After a month of use, I believe it is well worth the money. I don't have any issues with it at all. I've had it last about a week and a half before charging, which isn't a big deal for me. I usually charge it for 4 days to ensure that it is ready to use. And for those of you who are wondering if the back cover can be replaced, the answer is yes. Yes, it is possible. It is also compatible with the Xbox One S Controller.
This concludes the discussion. It took about six hours to charge these batteries the first time, but they last a long time. For the past four years, I've been playing. The batteries haven't even shown half charge after 5 hours. br>They can be charged with ease using the Xbox's USB port. Despite the fact that it is a little slower, I believe it is better for the batteries' long-term life. The cover looks great with any of the normal, Elite, or deluxe versions of the product. So far, so good; I've used both batteries and they appear to last a long time; I like that I can now play games without having to constantly plug in my controller to recharge my battery. It couldn't be any easier; all I have to do now is swap out the dead one for a fresh one, charge the dead one, and repeat. I also don't understand why Xbox hasn't created their own version of this, given how much easier these batteries are to install and remove than the Xbox brand lithium ion batteries. .
I've tried three times to purchase various battery products from this company; All of them had failed within the first six months. They will not charge to reasonable, functionally expected voltage values because they have the WORST charging technology in the industry. What irritates me the most is that battery charging and rechargeable batteries are a multi-billion dollar industry. TECHNOLOGY THAT IS DECADES OLD! This company, on the other hand, is still allowed to sell junk, crap, and garbage on Amazon. Having bought numerous attempts at Smatree Batteries for cameras, game controllers, and GoPros, they A- L F- I'm done. Please follow my advice; you will be glad you did.
